A man was guaranteed Jannah three nights in a row.
It wasn't for his tahajjud.
It wasn't for his fasting.
It wasn't for his charity.
The Sahabah were desperate to know why.
The Prophet ﷺ was sitting with his companions when he said:
"A man from the people of Jannah
will enter upon you now."
And a man walked in.
The next day - the same thing.
The third day - the same thing.
Three nights. Same man.
Guaranteed Jannah.
So Abdullah رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ asked him:
"I heard the Prophet ﷺ say you're from the people of Jannah.
But I haven't seen you do anything unusual.
What is it?"
The man said:
"It is nothing other than what you have seen."
Then, as Abdullah رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ was leaving, the man called him back and said:
"Except that I do not find in my heart any malice toward any Muslim.
And I do not envy anyone for what Allah has given them."
Read that again slowly.
His ticket to Jannah wasn't an extra prayer.
It was a clean heart.
No grudges. No jealousy.
Every single night, he went to sleep with a heart that held nothing against anyone.
Now think about your own heart.
Right now.
Is there someone you haven't forgiven?
Someone whose success bothers you
even a little?
Someone you smile at but carry something against - quietly?
That weight in your chest might be the one thing standing between you and what he had.
The Sahabah prayed more than us.
Fasted more than us.
Gave more than us.
And even they were stunned that this man's path to Jannah was his heart - not his hands.
Abdullah ibn Amr رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ said: “This is what we cannot do."
Not the prayer.
Not the fasting.
The clean heart.
That was the hard part.
O Allah, purify our hearts from malice and envy, and make us from the people of Jannah through our character...

From Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, who said: “Whoever reads Surat al-Kahf on the night of Jumu’ah , will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Ka’bah).” (Narrated by al-Darimi, 3407. This hadith was classed as sahih by Shaykh al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami’, 6471)
