Visiting this Sikh temple was one of those experiences where I arrived knowing very little and left having learned so much.

I learned about Prasad, the blessed food offered to everyone, and about Langar, the community kitchen where anyone can sit together and eat a free meal, regardless of their religion, background or social status.

One of the things that stood out to me most about Sikhism was the emphasis on equality, generosity and service to others. There’s a strong belief in earning an honest living, sharing what you have, remembering God, and treating people as equals.

I’m not Sikh, but I really appreciated being welcomed into this space and getting the opportunity to learn about a faith and culture I previously knew very little about.
