In Brazil, undergraduate study is called “graduação”. It usually lasts 3–6 years, depending on the course.
Bacharelado – broad and professional degrees (Law, Medicine, Engineering).
Licenciatura – prepares students to be teachers.
Tecnólogo – shorter, practical courses (2–3 years) focused on the job market.
Admission is often through the ENEM exam or university entrance tests (vestibular). Public universities are tuition-free but highly competitive, while private ones charge fees.
