First and foremost, I am a Christian. That is my identity, and I truly rely on the grace of Jesus Christ for His mercy and forgiveness every day.

The TRUTH
When people strongly believe in something—whether it’s political leaders, religion, or personal choices—truth can feel like an attack on their identity.
Instead of accepting it, they often defend themselves with insults.

Countries leave the International Criminal Court (ICC) or are not members because they fear threats to sovereignty, political weaponization, or believe the court is biased. Notable non-members or withdrawing states include the United States, China, Russia, India, Israel, and lately, Hungary and several West African nations. Reasons for withdrawal or non-membership often cite a perception that the court targets certain groups or allies, is ineffective, or lacks proper checks and balances on its power.

I have always enjoyed reacting to music, as it offers a unique way to engage with different cultures and perspectives. However, through this journey, I have gained a deeper understanding of the realities that many African nations face. I have observed a growing trend among young Africans celebrating misbehavior, lawlessness, and even dictatorship. What is even more concerning is the increasing number of people who actively oppose freedom and resist progressive ideas that could propel the continent forward.

For too long, many young people—including myself—have distanced themselves from politics, believing it to be unimportant or beyond our control. However, the consequences of political disengagement are evident in the challenges we face today as a continent. Ignoring these issues does not make them disappear; instead, it allows them to persist and worsen.

While music is a powerful tool for storytelling and cultural expression, there are times when entertainment alone is not enough. There are moments when the realities of life and death, injustice, and oppression demand our attention. I cannot simply focus on celebrating music when there are urgent issues that need to be discussed. It is crucial for young Africans to recognize the power of their voices and take an active role in shaping the future of the continent. Ignoring politics has come at a great cost, and if we truly want to see progress, we must engage, question, and advocate for meaningful change.
