New video is up. Banshee is finally ready for some trail action, pretty much dialled!. Now just to wait another week or so for the snow/ice to melt in the trails.
Dropped this old beater off at fireball coatings today. I’m not going to say what colour I went with until I get it back. But I kept it simple. I plan to do a build series for this. It’s going to be getting the 421cub I have. Which I plan to pull apart in the next coming weeks and swap out my pro mod rz350 trans for a pro mod banshee trans. Stay tuned 🤘
The banshee I built and gave to this old man for his 69th birthday last summer. Right handed deal. Clutch and throttle both on the right side. He lost his left arm 40 years ago. He alway wanted a banshee. Almost bought a new one back in 2006 but didn’t. Has watched me buy and sell banshees and always sad when I’m selling. All the toys he gave me as a kid, sleds, atc’s, atvs, go carts, Mx bikes…. The amount of pistons he replaced in said machines. I wasn’t easy on machines when I was young. Was time to give a little back. Started life as a Yamaha reproduction frame I bought about 12 years back. Frame is drag cut. (Had plans to build an asphalt 1/8th mile banshee) had it powdercoated wrinkle black year or two ago then sat on it, stockish motor I built from bare cases, welded crank, oem stator/flywheel, stock trans, matoon billet basket with driveline hd clutch, wiseco pistons 2nd overbore, stock cut head, boyesen reeds and some geniune 28mm pwk’s. Fmf fatty pipes with custom cut down shorty silencers. All around a reliable ripper. +2+1 arm and a tusk rear extended axle. Old school ac bumper. Almost 70 but he finally got his Banshee.
Another throwback. Orginally owned and raced by bondi race engines. First yz250 I built, misfits themed kit. Wasn’t exactly what I wanted the kit to look like but a friend designed it for me. Ported cylinder and cases, so much was cut out of the head that you had to use a spacer under the spark plug or the plug would hit the piston. Fastest 250 I’ve personally owned. 240psi kicking compression. C12 only for fuel.
