Big Chief

Today is the 30th of July 2026 which marks about six years since I created the Big Chief channel. This would usually be something I’d celebrate but after a lot of thought and reflection, I have decided that today will also unfortunately mark the continuation of my time creating TF2 videos.

I know it's been two months since i uploaded my cut content video, life has kept really me busy. I'm turning 21 on the 8th, I'm going to be heading to college (finally), my relationships with my partner, my peers, and my parents, have all been rightfully demanding. But during this time I have found a lot of fun playing TF2. And talking about it.

There was a bit there where I couldn't confidently call tf2 my favorite game of all time, but I think I've gotten over that bump as I've just been playing very casually, with the intention of just hoping on whenever i wanted to, no videos in mind. It's breathed a ton of life into the game for me.

Also TF2 content has been on a roll. Raw's Truman show video was incredible, Jerma is streaming and playing regularly again, I see new and incredible faces pop up every day, and with the mvm update, I believe a spark of life can be breathed back into this game. Maybe even leading to a new peak player count that isn't inflated by bots.

All of this makes for a game I want to keep making videos on. I have several in the works, all in different stages, and I will only announce them when they are done.

I keep going back and reading everyone's comments when I'm at work. You guy's say so many nice things, someone called me the "scott the woz of tf2" and I'm still thinking about it. Another person called me a "Melt" and as an American it might become a part of my regular dialog.

All of this sappy shit to say thank you for watching my video(s). And because you read this much the next video will be in a week.

Stay Beautiful-

Big Chief (Ty)

p.s: The art bellow is by me! rendered in sfm and edited in premiere. I've titled it "thinking". I feel it's a good representation of my mental state.

Valve puts out a statement on the progress of the mvm update:

“We wanted to give everyone an update on the update we already gave on the update we're working on, and here it is: We're still working on the MvM update.

It's taking a lot longer to sort through the new content and changes than we'd originally anticipated, but we promise we're making progress. Thanks for being patient!”

As for what I think this means for the update itself, I suspect new maps and Australiums. Anything else is needlessly getting my hopes up to be disappointed.
