Update on the Technical Issue! + DefenseCon, Twitch Drops + Trip

Seriously though, thank you to everyone who provided suggestions and helped me troubleshoot this cursed stuttering issue over the last couple of weeks, especially VeteranClacky who provided constant tech support! It all helped while I disappeared down a deep technical rabbit hole.

The issue was especially frustrating because everything looked almost fine most of the time, until recording, editing, or certain movements exposed frame pacing inconsistencies everywhere. Once I noticed it properly, I couldn’t unsee it, and I didn’t want to keep pushing out content while knowing something was fundamentally wrong.

After an absurd amount of testing, multiple fresh Windows installs, drivers, OBS configs, G-Sync/V-Sync combinations, refresh rates, hardware changes and more… I think I've cracked it. Knock on wood! But i can't pin it to just one thing, i think.

With that being said, for now I’ve never seen Star Citizen produce such a stable frame graph on my system before! And i think its down to these settings - (YMMV, my system was tearing/stutter heavy):

- GSYNC ON
- VSYNC ON (in Star Citizens program settings in Nvidia Control Panel)
- Triple Buffering ON here too.
- Game in Borderless Mode.
- No Vsync on in-game.
- Object Detail: Medium/Low (alongside your usual SC settings - but Object Detail hits hard).

With this nonsense behind me, I’ll have a video out this weekend and I’ll be around streaming PTU and 4.8 LIVE throughout the week! BUT, after that, I’ll be taking a little trip with the family for some poorly/awkwardly timed but much-needed time off. The timing stings extra, as i won't have a TSG video out till after im back, and i know quite a few of you were looking forward to that! Should get a good run on 4.8 live during stream this week at least!

Hi all, i apologize for not having a video out since last week. For the last 2 weeks I've been in troubleshooting hell and streaming inbetween, trying to fix an issue i have with local recordings since i got my 5090 rig. I've been having some real issues getting smooth footage, even though my gameplay is perfectly smooth. Stuttering in motion, periodic judders, lower FPS feel footage. It seems to be a "frame timing" and/or refresh rate issue, but I have tried almost everything i can think of, every combination of vsync, gsync, vrr, frame locking, borderless, fullscreen, new cable, driver uninstalls, DDU, 60hz, 120hz, 240hz, 60fps, 50 fps, 59.94 fps, custom refresh rates, reinstalls, etc, etc. If anyone out there has encountered this, and/or knows some weird fringe workaround/fix for something like this, I'm all ears! Otherwise, starting to feel like i really have tried almost everything at this point. My monitor is a 4K G8 Odyssey if that helps at all.

Today though, I'm trying a fresh wipe/format, so... Going dark for a while, wish me luck!

Sup everyone! Couple announcements re:

- New PC move.
- PIMAX VR Headset Promotion.

- As some of you know, I picked up a beastly rig last month, my first "high end" rig! Today I think its a good time to put it in! I'm excited to see what it can do. I spent a good few hours backing everything up yesterday. This *should* be quite a painless move now, upgrading from the 3090, 5800x3D to a 5090, 9800x3D and an overall beastier PC. Should gain at least 1.5% more frames in Star Citizen.

Thanks to all your support, i am pleased to say that i have now entered the realm of 4K! I gutted and cleaned out my nerd cave yesterday, to ensure the new G8 was installed into a fresh, clean environment! I then spent the rest of the day/night setting it up, running some tests and tuning the image. I'll be testing the stream (in 2K) tonight in Arc Raiders! There's a lot of motion in that game and it should serve as a good test bed.

Streams *should* run in 2K now, and all of my footage and video content will now be recorded in 4K, allowing me to bring you more quality and a better viewing experience. Awwww yiss!
