CATAI Dojo - Literally traditional Asian weapons combat - is a channel for enthusiasts and practitioners of ancient Asian bladed weapons.
Our goal is to offer combat training using the most realistic techniques possible, without claiming to use historical sources or manuscripts (except for dedicated videos). We are not tied to any school or style. Our members come from diverse martial arts backgrounds.

Dear community,
Our channel has grown steadily from the time when we were just some random guys sparring with swords in a park. After 2 years, we have built a sport association, developed a partnership with the awesome Akado Armory, and also recently hosted our first Asian Historical Fencing seminar. All of this was only possible with your support. Thus, we are very excited to announce a fundamental change that will hopefully help us create better content!
Based on your feedback and as a milestone for our growth, we have decided to shift our focus back to our original purpose. Instead of being a generic historical martial arts channel, we will now focus exclusively on Historical Asian Fencing. All of us have a background in various Asian fencing arts and my partners are also state-licensed instructors, so we feel that we have the most to offer in this regard. Our channel's name will change to CATAI (French for Independent Traditional Asian Armed Combat). That being said we will not closed our door to content involving European weapons.
We will announce our roadmap soon as well as our planned events for the coming year!

Notre chaîne n'a cessé de croître depuis l'époque où nous n'étions que des gars au hasard qui pratiquaient avec des sabres dans un parc. Après 2 ans, nous avons créé une association sportive, développé un partenariat avec une entreprise de matériel (Akado Armory) et récemment organisé notre premier séminaire d'escrime historique asiatique. Tout cela n'a été possible que grâce à votre soutien. Ainsi, nous sommes très heureux d'annoncer un changement fondamental qui, espérons-le, nous aidera à créer du meilleur contenu !
Sur la base de vos commentaires et en tant que jalon de notre croissance, nous avons décidé de nous concentrer sur notre objectif initial. Au lieu d'être une chaîne générique d'arts martiaux historiques, nous nous concentrerons désormais exclusivement sur l'escrime asiatique historique. Nous souhaitons mettre notre expérience/diplômes dans divers arts de l'escrime asiatique et nous souhaitons mettre cet expérience au servir de la communauté. Cest pourquoi nous avons pris la décision de renommer notre chaîne "CATAI" Combat Armes Traditionnelles Asiatiques indépendant). Cela dit, nous ne fermerons pas notre porte aux contenus impliquant des armes européennes.
Nous annoncerons bientôt notre feuille de route ainsi que nos événements prévus pour l'année à venir !
