People keep talking about the Will Smith slap but honestly the most shocking thing that happened at the Oscars last night was Dune winning 6 academy awards.
That movie was the most boring thing i've ever seen. It had a terrible plot that dragged on forever for no reason. I knew how it would end 20 minutes in. Like no shit he's gonna join up with the sand people, the visions show that from the get go. Half of the movie is just them walking and flying through the desert, as if that's supposed to be entertainment.
Plus the acting was just unemotional garbage all along, i could do that too. Requires no talent. Just a straight face for 3 hours. Hard to care about any of the characters with such bland performances,
And the visual effects weren't even that great, like yeah i'm sure it took a lot of effort but it looked so dull. Not much creativity involved to actually make it look cool and original compared to other sci-fi. Just a big desert with big buildings, how amazing.
... And there's a giant worm too, definitely the most interesting sci-fi creature anyone has ever come up with. Pure genius. A giant fucking worm ... wow
