However, many are unaware of the d@ngërs of cooking with onions that have this black film. If you spot an onion with this discoloration, exercise caution. Such onions are not safe to eat and can seriously h@rm your health.

Consuming these onions can lead to a fungal infection known as mucormycosis, which is highly töx!c. Always wash onions thoroughly before use, and if you find black mold inside, it’s best to discard them. Never use onions with visible mold or rot.

Before purchasing, ensure the onions are free from black fungus, as this can be as h@r.mful as pō!.sön. Additionally, if an onion with black mold is stored with other food, the fungus can spread and contaminate them as well.

Eating onions with black fungus can result in symptoms like headaches, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, and vomiting.

Important note:

If you have allergies, avoid consuming such onions. They can be particularly h@rmful to individuals with asthma. While you can remove the moldy part of an onion, NEVER USE IT IF THE INSIDE IS BLACK; it can trigger unwanted allergies.
