someone called me corny today 🤔
but they’re incorrect!
the basic definition of the word, “corny” is a cliché/overused phrase, joke, or statement that overtime becomes cringy, unfunny, boring, or repetitive.
mind you, this was on a simple joke video where in a moment of panic, i stuttered.
stuttering. that’s it.
So, there’s roughly around THREE different outcomes of which this person was thinking.
1. They believe stuttering is an overused action, even though no one can help themselves from stuttering. everyone slips up at some point. Speech impediments, anxiety, and mental illnesses or issues can impact one’s speech. This is offensive, given that speech issues can affect how one lives their life. labeling them as “corny” is hurtful and downright insulting.
2. They don’t even understand their own words. they just use the word “corny” because they’re under the influence of the Bandwagon effect (using a specific term or word just because other people online are using it). and, if that’s the case, that would make the word ‘corny’ (in itself) CORNY as well! your own word undermines and sabotages itself! With this logic, this makes people who attack others with their own personal interests.. corny!
3. They’re a waste of space on the internet who are too scared to express themselves because of the views they force onto both themselves and others. if you bully people for their interests, i fear you’re just a little jerk who can’t comprehend that there’s gonna be people who like the things they don’t like.
anyways, that’s my rant (i’m sitting in a hotel room bored out of my mind)
