Today marks TWO WEEKS until I walk across that stage and officially receive my Master of Social Work degree from UTA.

✨ I submitted my final assignments this morning, and I’ve got just one week left in my practicum. It’s all becoming so real.

Let me say this loudly for the folks in the back:
I AM PROUD OF ME.

From balancing motherhood and mentorship, to showing up in every room as a voice for healing in our communities… this journey has been personal, powerful, and PURPOSEFUL.

The New Moon in Virgo at 11º represents a moment of recalibration and practical intention setting. The New Moon’s opposition to Saturn retrograde in Pisces, however, creates a dynamic tension between structure and fluidity, order and chaos, practicality and dreaminess.

Full Circle Moment 🌟

In May 2017, I embarked on a journey to earn my bachelor’s degree in psychology with the dream of becoming a therapist. At the time, where I am today seemed like a distant dream. Just one week into my studies, I lost one of my closest childhood friends who had encouraged me to return to school and rediscover myself after starting my life over. Her sudden passing became a core part of my drive and determination.

Fast forward to May 2020, at the height of the pandemic, I completed my undergraduate courses and earned my bachelors degree in psychology. However, I had to wait until August 7th, 2021, to celebrate my achievement at a commencement ceremony. Today marks the anniversary of that commencement and the LAST DAY OF SUMMER SCHOOL in my graduate program. This is my final summer of grad school and I begin my FINAL YEAR of my graduate program in just two weeks.

Bonus: In two days, on August 9th, my dear friend Jess @jes_boo, who passed away when I first began this journey, celebrates her heavenly birthday.

This full-circle moment reminds me of my journey and keeps me motivated. Almost there! c/o 2025 💪🏾
