Hi!

I don't post on the community tab very often, but I'm about to upload some videos of wall-to-wall severe weather coverage from this past Tuesday and wanted to make sure something is clear.

I try not to favor one station in one market over the other, but sometimes it's easier to record just one or just two of the stations based on the circumstances of the day. On Monday night, I attempted to set up longer recordings for the three Louisville stations that we still get on cable (for now) in Frankfort with my WinTV quad-HD, when I found that the recordings dialog wasn't displaying any of the channels, indicating I likely needed to re-install the WinTV software and I didn't really have time for it. I decided to set my DVR for two of them instead then record the afternoon through the cloud DVR. The one station we don't get on cable was already set for long-term recording during the afternoon on a trusty WinTV-HVR-850 that was hooked up to a different computer.

That said, I was only able to get coverage from one station of the morning tornado warnings.

As "luck" would have it, work let out early for the severe weather threat, so I was able to get home before things started popping in Southern Indiana. Found my license key and was able to re-install WinTV before the tornado warnings began in the afternoon. However, due to some wiring issues in my office space, the cable signals were too low to record off the DVR, so I don't have anything else from Louisville before about 4:40pm.

Once I got WinTV re-installed, though, I didn't think and tried to record three of the four feeds simultaneously while also having four feeds up on-screen, which led the WinTV software to hang and freeze several times. That required hard reboots to correct, so there are small gaps in the coverage. Once the tornado warnings were over, I decided to not record some of the later coverage from two of the stations that stayed on through 8:00 p.m.

I do have some of the coverage from Lexington in the evening, but this will come along later because that has to be recorded off the cloud DVR.

Thanks!
