hey guys! so uhm… idk if you’ve heard of the new policy yt is putting in place in the US and other countries, but basically it’s going to use ai to check your watch history and determine your age by that, and if it thinks you are underage, you have to submit a photo of your face, drivers license, or id. so that is totally not good and many people are boycotting yt bc of it, at least u til the policy changes. so there are a few things i want to say:

1. what i will do:

i might not post for a while, possibly time to time, but less than i normally do (so VERY little). there’s a chance i still post, but i might not, and check in with other creators, because i know a lot of creators will be offline.

2. what you can do:

there are a few things you can do! some of them include,

- don’t post, or don’t post as much (if you do)

- inform other people and creators of this! the more people know, the better

- don’t use yt for a while, use things like netflix, disney+, pinterest, prime video, tiktok, etc

- email yt! lots of people are going to i assume, and yes, 1 email won’t change anything, but something like 100k or more could definitely. just mention that this is totally unfair, especially for people with camera issues, medical issues that affect the way they look, or any other issue. also mention something about how this is only doing the worst for them, and there are no benefits to this.
