Even though I still have my original that I raced in the 80’s, I probably will get the clone so I can keep my original preserved for light duty and the clone to rip around the track without fear! 🤘🤘

Diffusor is locked and loaded. I think it might be bigger than the ORV chassis itself. This is getting out of hand and I love every minute of it. Custom fan mounts also getting situated (need to integrate a shroud). Exterior body pics coming next! (Not sure I’ll get a speed run in this week but hoping for it! 🤞)

Big cars deserve big supercharged V8 engines, right? “Only” took 5 test prints to get something finalized to fit right in the ORV chassis. 🙄 My open class entry in this year’s PBSRC is getting absurd, but I think that was one of the rules. 🤔

No official runs yet for the PBSRC, but here are some pics of the progress of the front half of the car (pics of rear half will come later). Still up to my eyeballs in fabrication. I think I’ve nailed down my front suspension/steering with inverted arms/uprights (still waiting on one piece of hardware to fit everything a tad better). Prior to this, the arms were slung up way too high. Problem solved. The original idea was to make the chassis extension adjustable but I’m going to stay with the current length. The green 3D printed sections will either be CNC’ed aluminum (from my desktop CNC if I have time), or stay printed. Black parts will stay 3D printed, and the silver prints may be a combo of 3D print with aluminum or carbon (undecided and time pending). Lower carbon plate will stay as is but needs some trimming to flow with the front geometry (carbon plate holds the batteries and acts as aero). Will start with dual 3S and work up to monster dual 4S if the drivetrain survives. That 3D print in the chamber is only PART of the body… this thing is HUUUUGE. I CANNOT WAIT TO SHOW YOU THE FULL BUILD!!!!!! 🙌🙌🙌

Love this modified front end build I did on my Tamiya ORV for this year’s Poor Boys RC Speed Run Challenge. The crazy part? I will likely go in a completely different direction with the entire front end if I have time. So far my time on this build has been extremely slow, due to work/life stuff. 😵‍💫

Combo of suspension/steering parts include Tekno, Team Associated, Hot Racing, Xtra Speed.

Peter Goldman has completed his amazing Tonic RC infused Tamiya Honda City Turbo! He went ALL OUT and documented his entire process on the Tamiya Club Forum. Tonic RC parts include the full aero kit (front splitter, rear diffuser, F1 wing, side skirts, roof scoop), magnetic body mount system, as well as exterior body bits (lighted headlights, lighted fog lights, toe hook, intercooler). Looks fantastic!!! 😍😍

The recently announced upcoming Tamiya Nissan R91CP RC car re-release was not on my 2026 RC bingo card! It will be kit 47531. The one I have is kit 84264. I think they both share the same chassis but I’m not sure if there are any differences in parts. I think the box graphic layout might be different but both share mostly the same original hand painted artwork of the car itself (minus some sponsors). Will be curious if the sticker sheet will be the same since often times Tamiya doesn’t get all the re-release licensing from each manufacturer and changes things up as a result. I’m still not sure how I want to modify this car but I have a feeling I’ll add some sort of rear end work and more than likely interior and exterior lighting. It’ll also be likely this will be the very rare occasion that I actually do box art, as I was a HUGE fan of Nissan and their red, white, blue liveries of that era in both road racing and off road racing.

Bonus points if you can identify these two RC cars. Hint: they are both NOT current-day models! I bought these both new back in the day. I’m now changing these up to run in local low-key pop-up racing on tarmac. The one on the left (the dirty one) went from 4S using a 550 5.5-turn motor to now 2S using a 540 21.5-turn motor… THAT’LL be a change! 😅 The one on the right (the clean one) is missing the front CVD shafts (I had temporarily used it in 2WD short course carpet and now I can’t find those parts 🤦🏻‍♂️). I’m hoping I’ll get the clean one working, as it might be faster/nimbler since it’s quite lighter. But the dirty one has some good “brute force” behind it! 👊😅

Tamiya USA asked what was on the workbench this month. I have my M07R all ready to get built with hop-ups for carpet racing. I’m very tight on time this month though, so my fingers are crossed. Also trying to finish the edit for my RC10 B7R video. Non-RC-life is pulling me in all directions but when I do get to work on RC, it’s always therapeutic! 🙌
