Burkina Faso, under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, has launched a groundbreaking initiative to promote traditional medicine through the cultivation and research of local medicinal plants.
The project, based in Guiba, South Central Burkina Faso, reflects Traoré’s broader vision of national sovereignty — not just in mining and agriculture even but also in healthcare. By investing in medicinal plant research, the country aims to empower local communities, improve access to healthcare, and reduce dependence on imported pharmaceuticals.
This marks another bold step by Ibrahim Traoré toward building a self-reliant Burkina Faso — and could inspire similar movements across the African continent.
If all things work according to plan, the Trump administration has arranged plans to welcome the first set of white immigrant farmers from South Africa next week.

Captain Traoré isn’t just a trending name—he’s a test. A test of whether Africa can claim its future without being punished for it. Whether the world is ready to respect African sovereignty instead of managing it. And whether people everywhere can recognize when real change is being threatened in real time. streetsofkante.com/the-captain-who-said-no-why-ibr…

In Burkina Faso 🇧🇫, Adeline Somda is a credit to all women in Africa.
As CEO of the Anatrans cashew processing plant, she played a crucial role in reviving the factory, which was once owned by the Dutch.
The Dutch partner abandoned the factory in mid-flight, leaving thousands of women unemployed 🥲.
Adeline and her team subsequently sought the support of the Burkinabe government to have the factory recognized.
Today, Anatrans is 100% Burkinabe, managed by Burkinabe citizens, and employs over 1,300 people, mostly Burkinabe women.
