UPDATED REVIEW ON THE ARCHIVES UPDATE
Spoilers





Things I love:
Room designs are amazing.
The lore implications are so interesting
The subfloor is pretty fun
The Stairwell is a fun and unique subfloor.
Everything about Ransom
The entity designs
The Briefcase is one of the most useful things in game now. If you rift a Briefcase, that means you can store THREE ITEMS IN THE SAME RIFT. ITS SO USEFUL I LOVE IT

Things I ain't a big fan of:
Alma's mini game could be nerfed a bit. It's a bit difficult
I wish Honcho had another appearance after the executive office. The only way you can see him again is if you give him the Starlight bottle but even then he doesn't attack at Z-50
The Stairwell should have some sort of reward at the end especially since it takes so long to get there. (They might add that in the September 18th update though)

My opinion on the Archives update:
Yes, obviously there are spoilers. Read at your own risk







Things I like:
The rooms designs are so detailed and the new entities are very cool
A90/Ransom's rework has made him probably one of my favorite entity mechanics
The story with Honcho and the player is SO COOL
The Journal is one of my favorite things ever in this game. SOOO MUCH LOREEE! IT EVEN EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GROUNDSKEEPER THAT MADE HIM TURN INTO A VIJE THINGY RAHHHH
Alma is genuinely horrifying

Things I'm kinda ehh about:
The reward for beating the Archives is a briefcase that can store 5 (or 6 idk) items. It's very useful but obviously people are just gonna rift it. It was the same issue with starlight jugs and such where you don't really want to risk losing it so you just shove it in your rift and call it a day.
I know I just said I loved Alma, but my only critique about her is that she is so utterly terrifying she doesn't fit the Doors style. It looks like the kind of thing you would see in an analog horror series or something. I'm not saying it's bad for Doors to turn more horror based though, and I might warm up to her after a few days.
Not a bad thing, but I wish the Forget-Me-Nots were a tad bit more original. They are literally a carbon copy of Exit 8.

BIGGEST THING I DISLIKE:
The length of the Archives is AWFUL. I understand this is a reimagining of the Rooms, but after 500 rooms that take like a minute each, you beat the archives and literally look like the image below. The Rooms were easy because each room only took 3 seconds, so you can beat it in under two hours. The Archives takes god knows how long and imagine you get all the way to the end, and Alma or something gets you and you have to spend FOUR HOURS GETTING BACK THERE.

However, even though the update wasn't perfect, I really enjoyed this and I'm glad they reworked the rooms and added the Journal. Also, I haven't checked out the secret Mines subfloor yet, but when I know more about it I'll let y'all know my thoughts on it

hey y'all, it's been awhile. I hope it's okay if we postpone Bigger Bodies 3 until chapter 6 comes out. I haven't really been too into Poppy Playtime which is making it difficult to actually make more of the series. I promise it's not ending. For now though, I've been thinking of recreating all 10 episodes of the Among Us Animated series in melon playground. Would any of you guys watch that?
