🎃 Contest Update from Spook 365

Hey everyone! Spook 365 here.

We wanted to give you a quick update on our HalloweenCostumes.com design contest entry.

After hearing back this morning, we learned that removing the AI enhancement of the boys’ original drawings from our submission isn’t something that can be done on its own. We were given two options: either leave everything as is, or delete the entire submission and start over.

Starting over means losing a collective 867 votes across all of our submissions, votes we worked really hard for.

After thinking it through, we’ve decided to start from scratch.

We know this puts us at a huge disadvantage, especially this late in the contest, but we’re standing by this decision because it reflects what our channel is all about…doing the right thing, even when it’s not the easiest path.

We also want to take a moment to explain why. Over the past few weeks, we had multiple respectful conversations with members of the community, some long time followers, some young artists, who shared their thoughts with us. We listened, and we gave our word that we would make a change.

And when we give our word, we stick to it.

We’ve always believed the Halloween community should be about creativity, fun, and supporting each other. While we’ve felt a lot of love (and we truly appreciate it), we also want to be honest, some of the negativity we experienced went beyond opinions about AI and became personal.

That’s not something we support. We’re always open to respectful conversation and different viewpoints, but there is no place for bullying, hate, or tearing people down, on our channel or in this community. Because of that, we did have to block a few accounts, and we stand by that decision.

This community should be about lifting each other up, not bringing each other down.

To everyone who supported us and voted before, thank you! That support means everything to us. If you still believe in our idea, we’d be incredibly grateful if you’d consider supporting us again as we restart this journey.

Let’s keep this community what it’s meant to be… FUN!!

Hey guys 🧡

We just wanted to take a second to say thank you for all the support, votes, and kind messages on the boys’ animatronic design ideas. It truly means a lot to us.

These ideas didn’t start with AI.
Nicholas and Carlo have been creating designs for years in their Spook 365 idea book, and the concepts came directly from their original drawings.

We initially used AI simply as a way to help visualize their idea more clearly. The contest allows it, and for us it was just a tool to help bring their vision to life.

That said, we’ve also heard from some members of the haunt community who reached out in a respectful and positive way, sharing that they’d love to see the original drawings stand on their own.

Because of that, and out of respect for this community, we’ve decided to move forward using only the boys’ original artwork.

We’ve already reached out to the team at HalloweenCostumes.com to have the AI images removed. We know that may take a little time on their end, but that process is currently in motion.

We want to be clear:
We have absolutely no issue with anyone using AI in this contest, especially since it’s allowed. Everyone should create in the way that works best for them.

We simply made this choice because it felt right for us.

To those who approached us with kindness and respect, thank you. We hear you and appreciate you more than you know 🤜🤛.

As for negativity, that’s not what Spook 365 is about. We believe this community is at its best when people share their opinions with respect, even when they see things differently. We’ll always choose to focus on the positivity and continue creating in that spirit.

We also want to give a huge thank you to HalloweenCostumes.com for creating this opportunity. The chance to bring ideas like this to life is something the boys have dreamed about for a long time.

No matter what happens, we’re just proud to be part of this amazing community.

We finally hit the floor and got to experience some of the biggest and best in Halloween 🔥
