A large winged one dropped down and snatched something up from this sloping bank. Further down the river a few days before I had found a spot of disturbed snow, small flecks of blood and scattered feathers. Wild evidence of the bird of prey's meal.
This is my aloof, reserved rescue pup. She laid down beside me on the couch and leaned against my arm. This is unusual. She likes some petting but she's never been cuddly. I've had her for 2 years 4 months. This made my day.
I've been catching up on posting regularly. I stopped when my son and I went on our big cross country trip. I didn't intend to let it slip but taking video just didn't happen. We are settled into a winter rental and I'm getting back to it. My sense of loose organization has me wanting to get all the old footage loaded up online before I post the new. My goal is to be current. I'm using this format as a journal alternating between longer videos and shorts. I want to retain the long ones which don't garner much interest for my own record and memory storehouse. I'm finding the shorts fun and creative. They also are much more watched and commented on. I'm hoping something will go viral and propel the channel into a viable income source as well as just being a creative outlet. I haven't studied marketing, tricks and best practices and am just relying on organic growth. I've the thought of posting some pictures here. Perhaps of our trip first. And stills of the local landscape and of Taki the amazing pup. I am also going to post some paintings I've been doing. I'm trying to rekindle my long dormant artistic endeavors. I've found my drawing and painting skills are pretty rusty so with our downtime I'd like to hone them. Finally, the return of the nomadic life will reappear in the spring. I'm aiming for a May/June jaunt across the country and back in the new rig, Foxy, my new Honda CRV. I'm designing a bed platform with a pullout drawer for the kitchen. I'm not planning to take the diy camper and not sure if my son is going with me. If so, we'll have to take a tent and stay in hotels when we can't camp. I hope all of you will enjoy seeing the sights we've already seen with us, the winter ones we are seeing now, as well as appreciate and anticipate the art and upcoming nomading plans.

Imagined abstract landscapes. The 2nd one on the bottom was an older one (10ish years ago) and is an abstracted seascape. All are watercolors.
