Everyone says they want to get out of debt, but when I ask them how much they owe, most people don’t even know. How can you plan to get out of debt if you don’t know where you stand?

Here’s what you need to do today:
1. Sit down and calculate your total debt. Add up everything you owe (credit cards, loans, etc.).
2. Add up all your minimum monthly payments.
3. Divide your total debt by your total minimum monthly payments. This will give you the number of months it will take to pay off your debt if you stick to just the minimum payments.
4. Divide that number by 12. Now you know how many years it’ll take to become debt-free.
5. Add that number to 2025. This will tell you the year you’ll finally be debt-free.

For example:
• If you owe $12,000 total and your minimum payments add up to $400/month:
• $12,000 ÷ $400 = 30 months to pay it off.
• 30 ÷ 12 = 2.5 years.
• 2025 + 2.5 = halfway through 2027.

It’s not enough to just want to get out of debt—you need to know your numbers and have a plan!

Before you check social media, check how much money you have in your bank accounts. This can help you make better financial decisions throughout the day because you know how much money you have or don't have. This can also help keep you from spending as you sell 🪨 because you better understand where you stand. This applies to your credit card balances as well. Don’t also depend on the bank to notify you. You should always be the first line of defense regarding your money.

Budget friendly meal ideas part 2

So, here's a disclaimer: You don't have to follow this, but it can help you a lot. This is for my kids. I'm on a health kick, so I'll post my meal later.

Last week I posted days 1-7. Today is day four of the saving challenge. Technically you are ahead 3 days. I did this so that you would have some wiggle room. If there's a time when you have to skip some days you can still finish on time with us. That's your auntie looking out for you. If you did days 1-14 last week you are 10 days ahead❤️

Anyways here the break down for days 8-14.

For February, our focus will be paying down some of the debt that we owe. I want you to be more aggressive this month than you usually are, in making your payment. The goal is to have your balance paid down at least 50% of what is currently owed. To figure out what 50% is of what you owe, take thebalance you owe on a card or a loan and divide that number by two whatever number you get. That’s how much you have to pay this month. Now, if you owe a lot money on one of your accounts, that is OK—doubling the minimum payment counts. I want you to be more aggressive with paying your card down than usual. There are some people out there who only owe $100 on a card but refused to pay it down and keep paying the minimum payments. Where we’re going, the bare minimum is not allowed to come, so pay that card down, Sis.
