A simple fall afternoon in the kitchen. 🍎
Bellami and I made apple muffins together today using the apples we brought home from our visit to Miller’s Farm in Manotick.
Nothing fancy — just baking together, making a little mess, and enjoying those ordinary moments that somehow end up being the ones you remember most.
I think this is my favourite part of fall. 🤎

Today I found an old bookmark tucked inside one of my books, and for some reason it stopped me.
It felt like one of those tiny things that finds you at exactly the right time.
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want this next chapter to look like. About sharing more. About slowing down. About creating in a way that still feels like me.
Someone recently asked if I would teach design here, and I’ve been turning that over in my mind.
The truth is, I’ve never really known how to explain what I do.
Yes, there are principles. There is balance and scale and proportion. There are things you learn over time. But so much of design, for me, has always been something I feel before I can explain it.
I know when a room feels settled.
I know when something is missing.
I know when something beautiful is almost too perfect and needs a little age, a little imperfection, a little soul.
And I think that is the part I’m hesitant to call “teaching.”
I don’t want to stand here and tell anyone there is one right way to make a home beautiful.
I would rather encourage you to notice what you are drawn to. To trust what makes you linger. To pay attention to the pieces that mean something to you. To make a home that feels like yours, not one that simply follows the rules.
Maybe that is what I can share here.
Not lessons, exactly.
Just a lifetime of noticing.
And today, finding that little bookmark tucked away in an old book felt like a quiet reminder that some of the most important things we know are not always the things we can easily put into words.
Sometimes you just feel them.
And perhaps that is enough

A little September beauty from the garden. 🤎
I gathered a big basket of hydrangeas this morning and I couldn’t get over all the colours — soft green, blush, dusty pink and those deeper autumn tones starting to appear.
I know fall decorating is already well underway everywhere, but I’ve been in no hurry to rush the season. I like to wait until nature starts telling me it’s time.
I think she might be telling me. 😊
