Josh Peter with USA TODAY is reporting that Aidan Zings family have filed a lawsuit alleging negligent race operations and safety equipment failures.

The suit names 2XP LLC, Alterra Mountain Company, the American Motorcyclist Association, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, and Revelyst Adventure Sports as defendants.

The suit mentions lack of flaggers at the crash area which may have led to other riders running over Aidan.

The families legal representation states that they wish to bring a safer racing environment to reduce these types of events in the future.
