Greetings good people and a warm welcome to you all.
The mission of The Nekkid Watchmaker is to strip away all the BS and snobbery in watchmaking and to encourage a new generation of watchmakers in to this wonderful art. In essence we are all Nekkid watchmakers.
My name is Joe and I'm a watchmaker specialising in service and restorations. Welcome to the home of the barmy Brummy watchmaker. I take the watches that some may call trash and give them a new life on my bench with a bit of patience, a bit of "illegal" ingenuity, and the sounds of the kids running around in the background. From rescuing rusty Jaeger-LeCoultres to turning scrap pocket watches into custom masterpieces, we keep it real and we keep it nekkid. Subscribe for true restorations, a bit of sarcasm, and a some horological banter.

UPDATE $3000: so many of you made offers on this piece and wanted to know the outcome. I have tried to email everyone but may have missed some. I wanted to wait for the money to reach the family before I made an announcement. The watch was snapped up on the first day by a kind father who did not want to be named. This was his message: he said that he is just another “human/father who thanks God for his blessings and sad that we live in a time where people have to fight for equality and actually die for it, and also believes that every autistic kid is special in his/her own way and deserves the best care possible.” The winning offer was $3000 and thank you everyone who participated and my apologies to those who made an offer but didn’t win. A huge thank you to those who didn’t win but regardless, you went over to the donation link and made a contribution. Peace and love

This whole “someone else’s mess” project literally came in a money bag, but this dial though? I’ve added a little video on Instagram. You guys wanna see a video in this. Not much casework. The video will probably be me playing Sherlock Homes trying to figure out the crimes committed against this Rare dial omega

Need your help - does anyone, especially our Russian brothers and sisters know where to get this “turquoise” lume. The actual colour is the colour you see and the glow is green. Since this is a 1960s piece, I thought this may have been a modern upgrade but all the 3017s have this particular lume. It defo doesn’t look like radium or tritium. Any help would much appreciated #poljot#sekonda#3017#russian

Greetings good people. Just wanted to address some popular comments regarding the Longines Olympic video. Firstly the quick format. I wanted this one to be quick and engaging without any dead air because youtube constantly changes its algorithm and since this is for a charitable cause, I wanted it to deliver the message quick and easy. But I hear you all and the longer formats will always be a part of the channel. Also some of you were having problems with the links in the descriptions. My apologies because I realised I had typed it wrong but it’s all been resolved now. Thank you all for your support with this mission. You guys constantly give me the courage to keep speaking my mind. Love

Didn’t even realise I had accidentally unlisted this one. Must have pressed some buttons by accident when I fell asleep on the keyboard. For anyone who missed it - I Restored a Cartier Tank with a "Dinosaur Tooth"

WHY HAS JOE GONE MAD ON SHORTS ALL OF A SUDDEN?
look how many clips i usually end up with and there’s about 100 more on another sd card. So im trying to edit 100 clips a day and it’s driving me nanas. Someone please tell me if there is a better way to do this because this is how I YouTube and I don’t think I’m doing it right. A thousand clips for one restoration video is why it takes for ever. #sendhelp

Which dial would you use when you have a choice. The speed timer version was exclusive for the home (Japanese) market and the chronograph text version was for international export market. The export version looks to be in better condition but the lume is better on the speed timer
