If you are seeing this, you woke up.
Maybe got out of bed, and maybe that felt like an accomplishment.
It was.

If you are seeing this, what is an unkept nook of the world overshadowed by beauty, it’s a reminder that no matter how dark the times may feel …. beauty it to be had.

I took this photo just moments ago, after crying because my super attached cat knew I was leaving for my day in office and I’m super attached to her.

And I thought, how lucky am I that it’s not every day I go into the office(those are left for other daily struggles 😜)? Who am I to have this moment of struggle when people are struggling to pay their bills, watch their spouse fight cancer, get a diagnosis, fight just to live in this country?

I am human.
We all are.

Your struggle is valid. It’s warranted. It’s no less than because it’s real.

And when I took this photo, a biker passed me by and I had a brief moment of feeling self conscious. How silly am I to be like everyone else? Taking a photo of the sunrise. Others who will also often see the magic in the colors the sky makes & how cool that crescent moon is just peeking out, looking back.

I believe there’s a reason we do.
We are reminded of that magic.
We are reminded that we are alive.

I am THE MOST excited to say ...
Welcome to Crypt & Crescent. 🪦🌙

That's right: same me, same content, same channel ... new name.

Why, you may ask?

The content on the channel has become more clear of what I love MOST. It's not ever been a secret that I love all things dark, spooky, and witchy (from decor 💀 to seasons ☁️🍂 to stories I read 📖 to how I dress 🖤).

I've honed that in more, in all the ways (and more ways to come)!

But, while that became more clear in the content, in the person, in the thumbnails, etc, the channel name wasn't aligning with it all, or not as well as I wanted it to.

And trust me, the former name (Love & Lumos) meant a lot to me. Many of you found my channel through that name. To me, it means putting love, light, and magic in the world and, my friends, that is still the game plan. 💯%✨ And this change was not without a lot of thought.

Why Crypt & Crescent?

It was not my intention (actually I was actively avoiding it, lol) to change the name to also be two words with an 'and' in the middle. 🤣 But those two words embodied ... Aubrey, and I couldn't get it out of my head.

A girl who loves the dark (Crypt embracing) things and witchy (which the moon always reminds me of) things. The girl who could hang in a cemetery, is a night owl, will stare at the moon because it's a reminder of how insignificant most things really are but also significant, vibes with both aesthetically and in so many ways. Oh and the MERCH opportunities, my friends! 😄

I heard someone say in an interview, 'nothing's changed, but everything's changed.' I'd say that's accurate.

I know it might be an adjustment for some but I hope you'll end up just as excited as me. 🎉

Productivity looks a lot of ways.
And I want to reshare what I shared in Discord (for myself and anyone who needs to hear it).

The traditional idea of 'productivity' is hmmm ... not all encompassing.

Yes, the traditional idea feels good. When we do things that are typically deemed 'productive' it feels damn good.

But how do you feel when you rest? When you read a book? When you cuddle your cat? When you set boundaries? When you cut out what's or who is not working for you?

What did it 'produce?'

.... Feeling damn good. Am I right?

Let's change 'productive' and never forget how short life is. 🖤
