Dear art friend,
I have a big announcement today, but first, let me tell you a little story:
I always thought I didn't have "it".
Though I wanted to create beautiful things, somehow in childhood art classes I picked up the belief that I did not have enough natural talent. And that it was all all-or-nothing kind of thing. Either you're born with it, or that's that.
I don't know whether it was actual words that were spoken to me, or just my own internal comparison of what the kids I deemed "talented" could do. But the belief about myself and my potential was pretty stubborn.
It wasn't until my mid-30s that I decided to try to prove that version of myself wrong. In 2019, I challenged myself to finally learn how to paint. And I spent hundreds and thousands of hours honing my skills over the next few years. And yes, it was hard, and yes, it was so much work. But you know what? Spoiler alert: I stuck with it, and I actually got better!
That is why today is so meaningful: TODAY IS THE DAY!
Four years after I set my sights on the goal, and after not only improving my art skills, but adding entrepreneurial skills on top of that, I launched my online shop.
I have created gorgeous homeware & stationery based off of my floral watercolor paintings. I'd be thrilled if you took a moment to explore my online shop, and even placed an order if something catches your eye. Very soon, I will be able to launch my online shop!
I have been preparing for over a year, so I am super excited to share it with you in the next two-ish weeks or so. Exact date TBD, but I am honing in on it soon.
Because of the margins of the small business, I will not be able to offer discounts in general. Hello fellow artists and art business owners! I just wanted to pop on here to let you know that, YES, there will still be artist chat livestreams (interviews) on art business topics in the future!
With lots of bursts of illnesses, trying to make progress on my stalled shop launch, and the complexity of confirming 3 artist schedules at once for each topic, I hit a bunch of setbacks in getting any scheduled for May. BUT, rest assured, I love this format and I know you love it too! So I am working my magic in the background, and hope to be back on the regular every 2 week schedule soon.

Hello fellow watercolor fan! I have another question I would love your input on. Help a girl out, please! With the watercolor tutorial series I recently started, I want to continue to bring you one tutorial a week. But I need to know: Am I headed in the right direction? Please let me know via comment on one of the videos, and/or by voting in the poll below. I also would love to know what you think of my style so far: Should I be showing all the supplies at the start of the video? Should I mention the names of the colors as I use them? Etc. Tell me what you love, please! I am willing to make changes :).
