"Probably the craziest fish catch story from over the weekend and too amazing not to share was Chris Miller’s 7lb-15oz mega giant smallmouth. I reached out to Casey Goode that night to ask him if he heard about it as I knew he had caught a 7-2 giant the year before. That’s when he advised to me that it was his same fish from last year!!!
Furthermore, he released that fish during an end of year event up on pool 7. It found its way back to pool 8 and having spoken with Casey and Chris, we are pretty sure it was caught at the exact same location and exact same day, a year apart!!!
If you look at the photo comparison these fish are 100% identical. It’s simply amazing. It also shows that catch and release does work!! Can confirm the fish was released alive again and wonder what it could weigh next if it continues to live a few more years.
