I build apps with AI and share what actually works and what doesn’t.

Figuring it out as I go.

Ian Klosowicz

I almost launched Makerlog without telling anyone why it exists.

Just "here's the app."

No story. No hook. Nothing.

Then I realized the real problem I was solving:

Makers don't quit because they can't build.

They quit because no one's watching.

No accountability. No record of progress. No reason to show up tomorrow.

Makerlog fixes that.

Log your work. Document your decisions. Stay in motion β€” session by session.

If you're a maker who keeps restarting, this was built for you.

I don't care what anyone says, you'll need to know spreadsheets to become a Data Analyst

Even if it's not in your role description, someone in the company will need help eventually, and it will be within Excel

It doesn't matter who you are, how old you are, race, background, you can still become a Data Analyst

I know people who have transitioned from just about every field into data

And speaking from my personal journey, I got into data without a degree

The barrier to enter is lower than it's ever been and that's why there is so much competition

Learning the skills is easy

Standing out is not

That's why I share HOW TO STAND OUT in my videos

Can't wait to share more!

LinkedIn played a big role in working with recruiters

In this video, I walk you through everything. Step. By. Step.

After doing a live show with Maven Analytics, I noticed one recurring issue

Most people don't put their full effort into their profile

That's why I wanted to break it down into 7 areas where people can improve

These are small steps but when they are all put together, they make a huge impact

And trust me, the last tip in the video is by far the most important

I'll be giving away a personal Q&A to a random person who comments "DataDad" on the YT video. Just sayin...

P.S. You can immediately apply these tips to your profile TODAY. No more excuses!

Starting a data project is harder than it sounds

I would always question if I were doing the right thing or not

- Where do I start?
- What's a good project?
- How do I create one using SQL?

It's overwhelming

Here's advice from someone who has been through it so many times, I've stopped counting πŸ‘‡

Start simple

1. Get a dataset
2. Explore the data
3. Ask ChatGPT what questions to answer with the data
4. Create a dashboard based on answering the business question (see #3)

Anything else is thinking too much about it

The main focus here is to START and get your hands dirty building something

Do this 3 times and put the 3rd one in your portfolio

Yesterday I shared a video of habits that helped me land my first data job. I also share a habit that helped me land my 2nd and 3rd position. I bet it will be for my next as well.

Come give it a watch, learn a thing or two, and subscribe.

See you there!
