Back in 2013, we were just 2–3 people setting up a small office, with limited resources and a lot to figure out. ❤️
Those early years were all about learning, understanding clients, building trust, and navigating challenges along the way.
Fast forward to 2026, and we’re now a team of 11–12, working from a bigger office with better systems, resources, and processes.
But one thing hasn’t changed. The focus on improving, growing, and doing better every day.
Looking back at 2013 and seeing where we are today, it’s been quite a journey.
And honestly, it still feels like we’re just getting started.

Yesterday, my mother visited our new office for the first time.♥️
As she walked around, she kept looking at every corner with a smile. She didn’t say much, but I could see the pride in her eyes.
In that moment, I wasn’t thinking about the office. I was thinking about the journey.
She has seen it all. The uncertainty, the long days, the small wins that felt like big victories, and the moments when things didn’t go as planned.
People often ask me who my first team member was.
The answer has always been the same.
My mother.
I just hope I keep giving her many more reasons to be proud. 😊

My answer usually surprises them. It’s my husband, Tikku jee. Gurpreet Singh Tikku ♥️
After all these years of building Hareepatti together, I’ve realised that a lot of how I think about business has actually come from our everyday conversations, our debates, and those evening chai discussions.
Years ago, he told me something that stayed with me.
“Don’t chase business, Gurleen. Build genuine relationships. Business will naturally follow.”
At that time, I don’t think I fully understood what he meant.
Today, I see it everywhere at Hareepatti.
Three things he has quietly taught me over the years:
1. Listen more than you speak.
2. Never get too comfortable.
3. Choose relationships over transactions.
Looking back, I realise that Tikku jee hasn’t just helped me build Hareepatti.
He has influenced the way I think, lead, make decisions, and most importantly, serve people.
My strongest sounding board. My biggest critic.
And probably my most honest mentor. Thank you, Tikku jee.

For me, it's never been about choosing one over the other. It's about making both work together.
During my recent trip to the US, I would wake up at 5 a.m., while everyone else was still asleep. I'd finish my sales calls, connect with my team, and take care of the important conversations before the day even began.
By the time my family was ready, my work was done, and the rest of the day was completely theirs.
I never felt like I was sacrificing my vacation, and I never felt disconnected from my work either.
I've realized that when you genuinely enjoy what you do, work doesn't always feel like an interruption.
Sometimes, it's simply a part of your life that travels with you.

Found something today that took me years back. My father’s old keychain. ❤️
My father used to distribute these keychains to his clients with his contact details printed on them.
Something people would actually use daily, attached to their house keys, always within reach.
And in moments that truly mattered, emergencies, uncertainties, or when a family needed guidance for insurance, his number was right there.
No searching. No remembering. Just immediate access.
No social media. No digital ads. No personal branding.
That’s when it hit me. Marketing has never been about platforms. It is about presence.
Sometimes, the best lessons in marketing come from the past.

20 years ago, this was my office. 😊
This picture was taken on Karwa Chauth in my very first office. It wasn't a fancy corporate office. It was a small home office with a simple setup, a bulky computer, and lots of dreams.
What stands out to me today are two things.
First, the balance between work and family. Even on a festival like Karwa Chauth, work was a part of my day. I never believed I had to choose one over the other.
Second, technology.
More than 20 years ago, when many businesses were still hesitant to use computers, they had already become a part of my work. They helped me stay organised, serve clients better, and build my business more efficiently.
Looking back, the office was small, but the dreams were never small.
