I don’t usually speak about stuff like this on my socials but I feel like I have to. It’s honestly been really frustrating me.
It makes no sense to me how leaders from any country and I’m not pointing at just one can send men, weapons and rockets into other countries to kill or be killed. Most normal, everyday people don’t want war. Yet we’re always the ones who end up suffering because of decisions made by so called leaders.
When powerful nations make military moves and attack others, they know there will be consequences. And when retaliation happens, it’s not the politicians sitting safely in offices who pay the price, it’s ordinary people. Families. Kids. Innocent civilians.
And we also can’t ignore what’s been happening for almost two years now in Palestine. People there have literally been fighting just to survive. What the Israel Defense Forces are doing to civilians is, in my opinion, disgusting and should be condemned, not supported. Innocent lives should never be treated as collateral damage.
This isn’t about regime change. It’s about power and control. History has shown that over and over again.
I’ve always believed that if someone hurts others, they should be held accountable. But collective punishment, destruction and endless war isn’t justice. It never has been. The people who suffer the most are the ones who have nothing to do with the decisions being made.
If people in any country choose to support or criticise their leaders, that’s their choice. But one thing we should all agree on is this, governments must be held accountable.
No more war. War destroys lives. It brings out the worst in humanity.
