just in case anyone is a subscriber and is curious: it looks like there's a problem with the Note Max's keyboard where it randomly double-strikes the spacebar when you hit it. ‪@jeffreymoss‬ has also seen this on his so I don't think it's a coincidence or just that I got a lemon. hopefully this is some kind of software issue that can be patched out.
