Alhamdulillah, it’s Jumu’ah. 🕌

And for a day of this importance, I wanted a fragrance combination with presence.

Today’s layer:

👑 Roja Parfums — Diaghilev
👑 Boadicea the Victorious — Empire

Two powerful names to match the importance of the day.

Diaghilev brings its magnificent old-world richness—fruits, florals, woods, moss and that unmistakably opulent chypre character.

Empire meets it with its own regal weight and commanding presence.

Together? Grand. Rich. Sophisticated. Unapologetically luxurious.

But on Jumu’ah, fragrance is more than simply smelling good.

There is something beautiful about preparing yourself for the masjid—making ghusl, putting on clean clothes, applying fragrance, and presenting yourself well before standing shoulder-to-shoulder with your brothers in worship.

So today, the fragrance may be grand…

but the occasion is greater.

Roja Parfums Turandot × Xerjoff Via Cavour I

Today I wanted opulence with contrast.

Turandot brings the drama — rich florals, spice, woods and that unmistakable Roja grandeur.

Then Via Cavour I comes in with its decadent fruitiness, chocolate-tonka warmth and smooth sweetness.

Together?

Dark fruit. Florals. Spice. Chocolate. Woods. Warmth.

This isn’t two fragrances competing for attention.
They complete the picture.

Turandot gives Via Cavour I more structure and sophistication, while Via Cavour I rounds Turandot with a delicious, almost gourmand richness.

The result is luxurious, warm, complex and unapologetically decadent. 🔥

And yes…

IT’S STILL ROJA WEEK. 😂

🟣 SOTD | ROJA WEEK — Luxury Has Layers

Some fragrances smell expensive.

Some fragrances feel expensive.

And then there are combinations that make you wonder whether you’ve gone entirely too far.

Today…I may have gone too far. 😂

Roja Parfums — Parfum De La Nuit

Guerlain — Tonka Impériale

Two houses that understand opulence.
Two fragrances that absolutely do not need help.

So naturally…I layered them. 😏

Parfum De La Nuit brings that dark, polished Roja grandeur — rich, sensual, spicy, resinous and commanding.

Then Tonka Impériale comes underneath it with that unmistakable Guerlain refinement: tonka, almond-like warmth, tobacco nuances and a beautifully textured sweetness.

And together?

Good gracious.

This isn’t simply sweeter Parfum De La Nuit, and it isn’t darker Tonka Impériale.

The Tonka rounds the edges of the Roja, while the Roja gives the Tonka more shadow, depth and authority. The result feels warm, plush, spicy, slightly gourmand and unapologetically elegant.

It smells like tailored black trousers, polished shoes, gold details and absolutely nowhere inexpensive to be. 😂

And that’s what I love about layering fragrances at this level.

I’m not trying to “fix” either fragrance.

I’m exploring what happens when two masterfully constructed fragrances are allowed to have a conversation on skin.

Today, Roja spoke first.

Guerlain lowered the lights.

New week. New energy. Same standard.

Today’s Scent of the Day is Roja Burlington 1819.

This is citrus done with authority. 🍊🍋

That explosive grapefruit and citrus opening immediately wakes everything up, but Burlington 1819 is much more than a fresh fragrance. As it develops, the spice, woods, tobacco and deeper ambered facets start showing themselves, giving all that brightness some serious backbone.

It’s fresh without being basic. Vibrant without being juvenile. Luxurious without needing to shout.

And that’s exactly the energy I wanted today.

🌿 SOTD | Finishing Amouage Week

Amouage Reflection 45 × Chanel 1957

What a week.

I’ve spent this week wearing through my Amouage collection, revisiting fragrances I love, experimenting with layers, and reminding myself why I fell in love with this hobby in the first place.

So today, we finish with Reflection 45 — but I couldn’t leave it alone. 😂

I layered it with Chanel 1957, and this is beautiful.

Reflection 45 brings that rich, creamy floral elegance and woody depth, while 1957 lays this soft, luminous blanket of musk over everything. Neither fragrance is fighting for attention. 1957 smooths and brightens Reflection 45 without taking away its identity.

The result feels polished. Clean. Creamy. Musky. Refined.

And more importantly, it feels like me.

That has really been the theme of this entire Amouage Week:

Wear what you love.

Not what gets the most compliments.
Not what the algorithm says is trending.
Not what somebody else tells you belongs in your collection.

Your collection should tell your story.

I’ve had an amazing time going back through these Amouage fragrances this week, and ending it with Reflection 45 reminds me exactly why I started collecting in the first place.

Fragrance is supposed to bring you joy.

But today? Today we’re on BLACKCURRANT & OUD. 🫐🪵🔥

Amouage Opus XV – King Blue × Soulvent Saints of the West

And this combination is beautiful.

Saints of the West brings that bright, juicy fruitiness with its smooth iris and approachable oud character. Then King Blue comes in darker, richer, and more assertive—taking that blackcurrant-and-oud idea and turning the volume ALL the way up.

What I really like is that the Soulvent doesn’t fight King Blue. It gives it some light. King Blue gives the Soulvent depth and attitude.

Juicy. Woody. Dark. Smooth.

And somehow it feels exactly right for today.

Amouage Outlands × Guerlain Shalimar L’Essence

Amouage Week continues, but today Outlands needed a little assistance. 😏

Enter Shalimar L’Essence.

And what a beautiful combination this turned out to be. Outlands brings its aromatic, spicy character, while Shalimar L’Essence wraps around it with that rich, warm Guerlain elegance. The result feels smooth, sophisticated, and just a little indulgent.

Funny enough, I woke up a little late today.

Normally, that can create the temptation to rush—to immediately start the day feeling behind. But I decided there was no reason to frustrate myself trying to make up a few minutes.

So I slowed down.

Got myself together.

Took my time choosing my fragrances.

And walked out the door very happy with my selection.

Sometimes how you enter the day matters more than exactly when you enter it.
