wanted to mention that my name is inspired by Chara's. I was way into UT and Chara specifically. for various reasons I was disconnected from my name, mostly being bc it's too common and I was always the "other XXXXXX" or worse, the "second XXXXXX" in the room. When people called my name it was never mine so i stopped responding to it. some related to gender, i wanted something feminine but also neutral. some related to heritage, i didn't want a name from a people that weren't mine.

I could've taken chara. i was deep enough a kinnie to do so. i had auburn hair and conflicted feelings and love for knives but i didnt. i wanted my name, and i knew deep down chara wasn't my name either.

only ever met another "cori", via the internet of course. found the name on a random name site looking for short c names. saw it was italian. saw it was gender neutral. saw it was unique. saw it was mine.

So, to Chara, who was always someone else, who was never frisk, who was never you, who was never me, and Toby who created them... thanks man. good to hold hands and hear a name that's not someone else's.

happy birthday week to the game that got me into video games as an art form but also game theorizing. getting into this along with gravity falls as a kid changed my dna forever. I'm bad at being gushy but Undertale genuinely changed my life and how I view video games, art, story, etc. and my gender identity but that ones not special.
