I’m choosing to do my final speech for my public speaking class (which is persuasive) on puppy mills and what you can do to support non-profit and no-kill animal shelters because it is something I have always really cared about. I have done multiple projects involving puppy mills over the past several years and I raised money and donations for a non-profit and no-kill animal shelter back in 2020. This animal shelter also happens to be where five of the dogs my family has adopted (two of which I have currently) are from. Puppy mills are horrifying and it makes me cry to read about the inhumane conditions and treatment these dogs experience. I will not go into detail of the kind of treatment and conditions these dogs face, but there is plenty of information about it online. So for anyone who doesn’t know, most pet stores and commercial breeders are supplied by these horrid institutions. By purchasing dogs from these places, not only are you supporting puppy mills, but the puppy you are receiving may very likely suffers from health and genetic defects, as animals from puppy mills are prone to that. If you or someone you know has purchased from one of these establishments and was unaware, that does not make you a bad person, as many people are unaware of this secret of the pet-trade industry. What matters is only supporting businesses that promote and practice the well-being of animals. If you read this far, I encourage and ask you to please share this post, as just sharing information with others creates a domino effect and helps make a difference.

Guys, if any of you are unaware about puppy mills and their connection to dogs from pet shops and breeders, I highly encourage you to do your research and please do not under any circumstance support businesses that receive their animals from inhumane sources.

I’m extremely grateful I got to experience the magic of the Found Heaven Tour. I honestly never had plans to go since I hadn’t gotten tickets. Today, I just spontaneously had the idea to look at ticket prices just out of curiosity, and what do you know, my luck worked out. They say, “if there’s a will, there’s a way,” but I don’t know if you can say my $27 crazy deal of a ticket applies to that lol. But I am so grateful that everything aligned and I was able to have this experience tonight. Conan Gray just brings me so joy, and hearing his songs live healed something in me. I thought about a lot of challenging things I’ve gone through and am currently dealing with while I was there, and I felt completely overrun with emotion. I danced and sang, but I also cried. However, even though the tears came from thinking about upsetting things that I am reminded of from some of Conan’s songs, (as they are so relatable for me), I wasn’t sad. I instead felt at peace to hear the live words from my favorite artist. So here’s to a night that will stay in my memories and go on and on (pun intended lol.) I love you ‪@ConanGray‬. 💗
