November started with a beautiful divine vibe. ✨
With Karthika Masam beginning, we were invited to a Satyanarayana Swamy Pooja, received a lovely Ganesha idol as prasadam, and continued the month with another
This month also blessed us with the last harvest of the year — pumpkins 🎃 and a handful of homegrown cotton, enough to make wicks for pooja for whole year 🤍
A little Thanksgiving Day shopping added to the month’s memories. 🛍️✨
We ended the week with Ayyappa Swamy Pooja at a friend’s house. Feeling truly blessed. 🙏✨
Grateful for everything. Thank God.

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my channel.here is a link of new video about types of soil and best soil for best plant Best Soil for Every Plant | Indoor, Outdoor, Seedlings & More!
https://youtu.be/LvCirWjrDk4
we’re diving into a topic many of you ask about — soil!Questions like:What’s the best soil for indoor plants?Which soil works best for raised beds?Do different plants need different soils?
I’ll answer all of that and help you choose the right soil for your garden — and what to avoid. Let’s get started! Why Is Soil So Confusing?
With so many types — potting mix, garden soil, compost, seed starters — it’s easy to get overwhelmed.Soil for Indoor Plants
Indoor plants usually fall into three types:Tropical plants and succulents like regular potting mix.Succulents need excellent drainage — use a 50:50 mix of soil and sand or buy succulent mix.Good potting mix contains peat moss, pine bark, and perlite or vermiculite.
Orchids need special orchid mix (bark, moss, coco coir) to let roots breathe.
Tip: Potting mix works for seed starting and outdoor containers too. Check the label — nutrients may last 3–6 months. I refresh mine every spring! What to Avoid Indoors
Skip homemade compost (like rice water or banana peels) in pots. It:Smells badAttracts bugsCan harm roots
Stick to clean, balanced soil indoors.Best Soil for Seeds
Use potting mix or seed starter soil — light, clean, and well-draining.Avoid compost-heavy soil for sprouting — it’s too dense.Soil for Outdoor Containers
Use compost-based potting mix or organic container soil.Ingredients often include:Yard trimmingsFood scraps (veggie peels, coffee grounds, eggshells)
Don’t use garden soil in pots — it holds too much moisture and can cause root rot.Soil for Garden Beds
For in-ground planting, use garden soil — a mix of compost and natural soil.Look for blends with food scraps, yard waste, and manure.I use a local mix that’s 70% compost — it’s been amazing!Just be careful with watering — garden soil holds more moisture.Quick RecapPotting Mix: Light, drains well — great for indoor plants and seedsCompost Mix: Rich and moist — ideal for outdoor containersGarden Soil: Heavier, nutrient-rich — perfect for raised beds and in-ground gardens
Use the right soil, and your plants will thrive!OutroGot questions? Drop them in the comments! Thanks for your support — likes, shares, and subs mean a lot.See you in the next video, and happy gardening!

Secrets for growing Money Plant Happy & Healthy Naturally. #pothos #moneyplant #garden #nature
Hi, I’m Lakshmi. Welcome to my channel! If this is your first time watching my videos, don’t forget to subscribe. Here, you’ll find more content about gardening!
In every video, I talk about one plant — how to take care of it, along with all the tips and tricks. In this video, I’ve brought you a very well-known plant — none other than the money plant!Almost every home has a money plant by default. Some people believe it brings luck, while others say it brings wealth. Whatever the belief, a lush money plant at home looks beautiful and vibrant. So, in this video, I’m going to share some secrets on how to grow a happy and healthy money plant. In many homes, you’ll see it creeping and growing beautifully. But in some places, it just doesn’t grow well. I faced the same issue — for over a year, my money plant didn’t grow at all!I tried many methods — adding fertilizer, growing it in water, in soil, and other ways. But nothing worked. Finally, I discovered the secret to making it thrive . Money plant, also known as pothos, is a very common and popular houseplant. It grows easily in a variety of conditions — from low light to bright, indirect sunlight. It requires very little maintenance, but when it’s happy, it can grow like crazy! To help it grow happily and naturally, here are some important tips:It’s a tropical plant — which means it loves warmth but not direct / indirect sunlight. So don’t place it where the sun hits the leaves. The best spot is next to a a window, or opposite one, where it gets good humidity instead of brightness .When you first place the plant in a new location, give it 2–3 weeks (or even a month) to settle and adapt to its environment.Avoid moving the plant around too much, as this can confuse it and slow its growth. Choose a permanent spot and let it be.If you notice brown spots or damaged leaves, it could be due to low or high humidity, or improper watering.Fertilizer Tips:Money plants don’t need much fertilizer. Changing the soil once a year is usually enough. But if you do want to use fertilizer, you can find pothos fertilizer on Amazon — just follow the instructions on the pack, or fertilize monthly or seasonally. For the best results, fertilize from early spring to early fall. Avoid fertilizing from mid-fall to late winter.Personally, I prefer to grow it naturally. So I just change the soil once a year — and that’s it! Do you think I should add fertilizer? Let me know in the comments!Watering:Even though money plants can grow in both water and soil, if you’re growing it in water, it’s best to change the water every one or two weeks. However, for long-term growth, it’s better to grow the plant in soil.If planted in soil, water it once or twice a week depending on the season — or simply water it when the top layer of soil feels dry. It’s best to water the plant during the daytime. How to Make the Plant Bushier:To make a money plant bushier, the key is pruning. Prune it once a year, preferably between spring to summer, as this encourages new growth. When pruning, look for long vines and cut them back. This signals the plant to send out new growth from the cut areas, making it fuller and bushier. Regular pruning once a year is ideal.Propagation:Money plants can be easily propagated. Just cut a stem with at least one node and place it in water or soil. Wait for roots to develop. If propagating in soil, keep the soil moist until roots form, as shown in the video. Use a nursery pot with a saucer and add water whenever the saucer runs dryBest Type of Pot:Terracotta or clay pots are the best for money plants. All my videos are based on real experiences with my own plants. How To Choose The Right Plant For Your Space || How To Find The Ideal Plant For Every Environment full video link
https://youtu.be/RwYJUVw9fpY
“Hi, I’m Lakshmi. Welcome to my channel! If this is your first time watching my videos, don’t forget to subscribe. Here, you’ll find more content about gardening!
In this video, we will talk about different types of plants and which ones are suitable for specific places—for example, which flower plants are best for a garden, deck, or patio. Once we understand this, it will be easier to choose the right plants for the right places
Annual Plants
When you visit a store or nursery to buy a plant, you will find two types: annuals and perennials. First, we will talk about annual plants.
As the name suggests, annual plants have a one-year life cycle. They grow from seed, bloom, and complete their life cycle within the same year. Most annuals are planted in spring, bloom during summer, and die in fall. However, you can collect their seeds at the end of the season to plant again the following year.
Here are some easy-to-grow annuals that are perfect for Flower & Vegetable gardens:
• For garden beds (in-ground): Marigold, Nasturtium, Cosmos, Sunflower, Zinnia, Alyssum, Calendula, Petunia
• For pots and containers: Impatiens, Begonia, Johnny Jump-Up, Vinca
• For hanging baskets: Geraniums, Nasturtium and Petunias
. climbing plants: morning glory & Cypress Vine .
Naturally, all plants will grow in various places—like gardens, containers, or hanging baskets—anywhere they thrive. However, if we want to choose specifically, we can consider the following options
Perennial Plants
Perennials live for more than two years, even in harsh climates. Some gardeners say that for plants like clematis and hardy mums
• The first year they sleep,
• The second year they creep (grow slowly),
• The third year they leap (reach maturity and flourish).
Perennials are mainly divided into two types:
1. Repeated Perennial
2.Permanent Perennial
Repeated Perennial
These plants shed their leaves in the fall and appear lifeless in winter, but they regrow each spring. Over time, they multiply and become healthier.
Popular deciduous perennials include:
• Daylilies
• Black-eyed Susan
• Hardy Mums
• Asters
• Daisies
Some of the best perennial creepers:
• Clematis
• Climbing Rose
Perennials that grow taller and bushier without multiplying:
• Rose
• Hydrangea
2. Evergreen Perennials (Permanent Perennials)
These plants stay green year-round, regardless of seasonal changes. They maintain their foliage even in winter, which is why they’re often called evergreens.
Popular evergreen perennials include:
• Christmas Tree
• Azaleas
Evergreen perennials are often planted around houses to improve air quality, provide shelter for wildlife during winter, and act as natural wind barriers.
What Are Potted Perennials?
Some perennials cannot survive in the ground during winter in colder regions, so they’re grown in pots—these are called potted perennials.
In Zone 6, examples of potted perennials include:
• Calla Lilies
• Dahlias
• Lavender
• Coral Bells
• Gerbera Daisies
In warmer zones like Zone 9, where winters are milder, these plants can often survive in the ground as true perennials.
Potted perennials are low-maintenance year after year. In winter, store them indoors or in a garage. They don’t need watering during this time—just let them rest. In spring, start watering them again, and new shoots will appear. These plants are great for decorating porches and decks.
What Are Tropical Plants? How to Care for Them?
Popular tropical plants include:
• Jasmine
• Bougainvillea
• Hibiscus
• Plumeria
• Coconut Trees
Common tropical creepers:
• Jasmine
• Bougainvillea
and some of the best creepers in tropical plants are
Butterfly pea
Tropical plants thrive in warm, humid environments. Some can handle mild cold and shed their leaves in winter, regrowing in spring like perennials. However, if a tropical plant dies completely due to improper winter care, it won’t return like a true perennial.
To protect tropical plants in winter:
• Do not store them in a garage, as they can’t survive extreme cold.
• Keep them indoors or in a basement.
• Water them once every one to two weeks during winter.
If you watch this video all the way through, based on your climate—whether it’s warmer or colder—you’ll get an idea of what kinds of plants will work best for your space, like flower gardens, patios, and more. For more gardening videos, make sure to subscribe to my channel. Thanks for watching!
