🎉 Exciting news! I’m now officially a Grammarly Ambassador.
I wanted to take a moment to share this milestone and also show the small token Grammarly provides its ambassadors.
One of the highlights of 2025 was stepping into this role. It reflects the work I’ve done to position myself and my expertise as an author and entrepreneur. For self-published authors, the lesson is clear: tools like Grammarly can support your work, clarify your message, and help position your book strategically for success.
For 2026, my focus is still about helping more authors turn their books into influence, their stories into connections, and their work into opportunities that matter.
💡 Tip for authors: Always think about how the tools you use support your story, your brand, and your ability to monetize your work effectively.

One thing I absolutely love about the holidays is the way the world seems to glow with camaraderie, connection, and gatherings of every kind. There is laughter, networking, and people finding reasons to come together.
But there is another side to this season that many never talk about. No one ever mentions how often a family loses a loved one during this time of year. Even if you don’t lose someone, the holidays can still bring memories of the people you miss, those who have passed on or those who are far away. These moments can make the season feel heavy, lonely, and overwhelming.
Have you ever heard the saying that someone is always doing worse than you? If you feel like you cannot make it through this season, that the holidays are too hard because of loss, loneliness, or exhaustion, now is the time to shut down those thoughts and instead be an inspiration, be a beacon of light for someone else.
‼️This is the reason why I continue to encourage you to keep sharing your story, keep sharing your message. Your words and your presence may be exactly what someone else needs.
📌For the holidays, let’s prove that social media works. If you need someone to reach out to, I’m here 💪🏾. You can find me on YouTube as Writing Coach LK, on LinkedIn, and on Twitter. Twitter can be a little delayed, but I’m there too. You can also set up a free 15-minute consultation if you want guidance with your book or how to sell your book. www.writingcoachlk.com
Let’s rock out for the holidays. Let’s keep posting. Let’s not take a dip. Let’s not take a break. Let’s keep going.

I’m back, and I’m back with a vengeance.
By vengeance, I mean rocking this pink and green. Do not ask me why. Those were the colors tonight, and somehow they set the mood.
While I was getting ready, I kept thinking about how many self-published authors overlook LinkedIn even though it can open real doors. So I sat down and made a video about why the platform works and how authors can stand out there.
Here is what I cover
💡 Your voice becomes your brand
💡 Thought leadership attracts readers
💡 Consistency gets rewarded
💡 Networking creates unexpected opportunities
If you have been curious about trying LinkedIn as an author, this video is worth your time. Give it a watch and see how it can work for you.

NO FILTER 🎉
If I can be transparent for a moment, I was a soap and water type of girl. Simple, easy, and straight to the point, which worked for me and my schedule. But about 30 days ago, I decided to try something new. I added a few new products to my routine, nothing complicated, just a small shift to see what would happen. Now, 30 days later, I can honestly say I see and feel a difference. My skin has changed, but so has my perspective.
This transition made me think about writing. As authors, we often get comfortable with what’s familiar. We write the same way, connect with readers the same way, and stick to what we know because it feels safe. But growth happens when we’re willing to step out of that comfort zone. When we try something new, even if it’s small, we give ourselves a chance to see progress we didn’t think was possible.
Change doesn’t always require a big move. Sometimes it’s the quiet, consistent steps that create the most lasting results. Whether it’s your writing, your self-care, your workout routine, or your mindset, give yourself permission to grow in new ways.
If this message speaks to you and you want more inspiration for your creative journey, follow this page and subscribe. Because truly, you never know what a difference 30 days can make.

Why Great Self-Published Books Often Get Overlooked
Have you ever noticed how people look at books the same way they look at people? That quick once-over.
A glance up and down.
If nothing catches their attention, they move on.
It’s not that people don’t want to buy books.
It’s that they want to know:
📘 How will this book help me?
📘 How will it impact my life?
📘 How will it change the way I think or feel?
Most readers do a “once-over” before committing. They scan the title, glance at the cover, flip it over, read the back, and maybe a few pages inside.
And if nothing speaks to them, the book stays right where it is.
Now Imagine This Process When Readers Are Shopping For Books Online…
This is the quiet reality for many self-published authors.
📣Books do not sell themselves.
📣The title alone will not sell a book.
📣The cover alone will not sell a book.
Even the best-written story will not sell itself without a clear STRATEGY.
If you are a self-published author, your job does not end when you hit “publish.” It begins when you start building a strategy that connects your book with the people it was written for.
Until someone feels that your book is meant for them, they will keep giving it the once-over and walking away.
What do you think?
Why do you believe so many readers hesitate to buy books, even when they look great?
Let’s talk about it

Day 28 Workout 🚴🏿♀️🏋🏿♀️
I know it doesn’t look like much. But something is always better than nothing.
The biggest thing I’ve learned on this journey is this:
I can not finish what I never started.
And that truth applies to more than just workouts. It applies to dreams, goals, and even writing.
One thing I’ve been doing alongside this fitness journey is writing about it — not just for others, but for myself. Writing gives me clarity. It helps me process the hard days, celebrate the wins, and stay accountable.
That’s why I’m so passionate about helping others write and share their stories. As a Writing Coach, I believe we all have a story worth telling. Sometimes, writing it down is the very first step to transformation.
Today, I’m not just grateful for Day 28. I’m grateful for the day I decided to start everything: my workouts, my writing, and sharing it with you.
💪🏾 Your story matters. Your journey matters. You just have to start.
What about you? What’s something you’ve been waiting to start that could change everything if you just took the first step?

Staying Humble and Inspired on the Entrepreneur Journey
I will never forget the first time I pitched an idea that I believed in with my whole heart. I had spent weeks preparing my presentation, practicing my delivery, and getting every detail just right. When I finally shared it, I was met with blank stares and a polite, “We’ll get back to you.”
They never did.
I remember sitting in my car afterward, frustrated and questioning everything. Was my idea good enough? Was I even cut out for this? Looking back, that moment was one of the most valuable lessons of my entrepreneurial journey. It taught me that rejection is not the end, it's feedback. It taught me to slow down, listen more carefully, and keep improving. That experience reminded me that entrepreneurship is never a straight line. Some days you are celebrating wins, and other days you are wondering what went wrong. The truth is that success is not just about strategy or talent. It is about who you become along the way.
Staying humble and staying inspired are two qualities that will carry you further than anything else.
3 Ways to Stay Humble (With Real-World Examples)
1) Listen More Than You Speak
Humility shows up in the way you listen. Take time to hear what your customers, team, and mentors are saying.
Example: A business owner I know discovered a major gap in her service just by reading reviews and personally calling a dissatisfied client. That one conversation turned into a long-term relationship and a better system for every customer that followed.
2) Own Your Mistakes
Nobody is perfect, and pretending you are only hurts your credibility.
Example: Early in my own journey, I once sent out a piece of writing with a typo in the headline. Instead of ignoring it, I acknowledged it, corrected it, and shared what I learned about slowing down to review my work. People respected my honesty and kept trusting me.
3) Keep Learning and Asking Questions
The market is always changing. Humble entrepreneurs stay curious and never assume they have all the answers.
Example: One entrepreneur I coached signed up for a competitor’s workshop to learn new trends. Instead of feeling threatened, she left with new ideas and a stronger strategy for her own business.
Staying Inspired
Inspiration is what keeps you going when money is slow, calls are not returned, or your plan does not work out the way you hoped.
Find inspiration by:
1) Celebrating small wins, even if no one else notices them.
2) Surrounding yourself with other entrepreneurs who understand the journey.
3) Going back to the “why” that made you start your business in the first place.
I am LaNette, the Writing Coach. I help entrepreneurs and professionals share their story with confidence and clarity so that their message connects and inspires. Your journey is not just about building a business. It is about becoming the kind of leader who can handle growth with grace. Stay humble, stay inspired, and keep writing your story.

This weekend, I took some time to slow down and give myself a deep skin cleansing. Life can get hectic, but it is so important to pause and take a moment to care for ourselves. It reminded me that true care begins within and that every step we take toward nurturing ourselves reflects the truth of God’s design.
Psalm 139:14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Here are the products I used this week, in the order listed:
▪️ MARY KAY Brush
▪️ Blemish Control Cleanser
▪️ Toner
▪️ Blemish Control Moisturizer
▪️ Collagen Eye Cream
▪️ Lip Balm
For those who are new here, I’m LaNette, The Writing Coach LK. I recently earned my Master’s degree, and I am passionate about helping others find their voice, tell their stories, and build confidence through the power of words. Whether it is writing for personal growth, professional goals, or creative expression, I guide others to express themselves with clarity and courage.
This skincare routine was more than just about the products. It was a chance to pause and reflect on how God has designed each of us with purpose and beauty. Taking time to care for ourselves is a way to practice gratitude and honor the gifts we have been given.

There are moments in life when I look back and think, did I really do that?
During COVID, I was working in Philadelphia for a church while still living in another state. It was exhausting, stretching, and, at times overwhelming.
Yet, in the middle of it all, I even made space for a mini photo shoot. Looking back, it feels radical, almost unbelievable, but it taught me that the risks we take often reveal the strength we never knew we had.
In 2025, so much is being placed on our plates, but here is what I have learned. Do not focus on what is not on your goal list unless God gives you a new focus or a new assignment. Clarity and peace come when you stay aligned with what He has given you to do.
I am LaNette, The Writing Coach. I believe in the power of words to transform lives. Writing your story is more than just filling pages, it is preserving your voice, sharing your testimony, and leaving a legacy. If you have a book on your heart, the best time to start is now. Do not wait for perfect conditions. Your words may be the encouragement someone else desperately needs.
Here are 3 reminders for your journey:
▪️ Fear and faith can not sit in the same space. Choose faith every time.
▪️ Discipline is stronger than motivation. Show up for yourself even on the hard days.
▪️ Vision requires sacrifice, but the reward is growth, strength, and clarity.
So I leave you with this question. What is one bold step you are willing to take this year to move closer to your goals, whether in life, in faith, or in finally writing that book?
