Over the past few weeks, I’ve been experimenting with a new way to present my long-form travel videos based on my visit to Dubrovnik, Croatia, in early January.

Dubrovnik’s Old Town and famous city walls, an UNESCO World Heritage Site and a filming location for Game of Thrones, are usually packed with tourists during the peak season.

But in winter, the atmosphere is completely different: peaceful, quiet, and almost magical. It gave me the chance to slow down and really appreciate the beauty of its medieval architecture and the atmosphere of the Old Town.

For these two new videos, I just edited them as a peaceful POV walk, no talking, no music, just the natural ambient sounds of the city, the wind, waves, birds, and church bells, because I hope to share with you what it actually feels like to walk around the Old Town on a quiet winter morning.

== Eye Surgery Update ❤️==

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a quick update for my eye surgery. I had my follow-up appointment 7 days later, and the surgeon said everything is healing well, I will be assessed again in six weeks! 🤞

I want to say a huge "Thank You" to all the healthcare professionals who looked after me, my family and friends for their support, and everyone who continued watching and supporting my YouTube channel while I was away.

I'd also like to share what happened in the hope that it might help someone else.

The reason I needed surgery was a retinal tear, which was a medical emergency, and delaying treatment could lead to permanent vision loss. Before this happened to me, I had never heard of a retinal tear or knew nothing about the warning signs.

Looking back, I experienced a few symptoms:
* Sudden flashes of light in my side (peripheral) vision.
* A sudden increase in floaters (tiny dots or cobweb-like shapes drifting across my vision).
* Blurred vision in one eye.
* Darkened vison in one eye.

If you notice any of these symptoms, please seek professional eye care as soon as possible. Before being seen by eye doctors, try to avoid driving if your vision is blurred, rubbing your eyes, heavy lifting, or bending over. (Please note: all information is based on my personal experience, not medical advice.)

== A Personal Update ❤️==

Hi everyone, I never expected to write a post like this, but I want to keep you updated.

Starting this week (July 14), I’ll be taking a break from posting long-form videos. This is not goodbye, just a pause while I focus on my health, as I'm having eye surgery tomorrow.

I still have some Shorts scheduled through the later July, after that, I’m not sure when I’ll be able to return to my normal upload schedule.

What makes this (break) difficult is that I’ve posted consistently since May 2025, one long-form video and two shorts per week, without missing a week. Through work deadlines, travels, and technical issues, I’ve always found a way to keep posting. But this time, my health has to come first.

To everyone who watches, comments, and supports my channel: thank you! ❤️Your feedback and encouragement have meant more to me than you know. Please keep supporting my channel, like, share, and subscribe!

I will be slower to reply to comments for a while, but please know I still appreciate every message and will reply them once I can.

I’ve visited 44 countries so far and still have so many travel videos waiting to be shared. I’m looking forward to returning and sharing them with you when I’m fully recovered.

For now, I’m choosing to believe that "adversity is a gift", as it often offers us something valuable, even when we can’t see it at the time, we just have to keep the faith and keep moving forward!

If you fly domestic in mainland China, your power bank MUST have a visible CCC mark printed on it. Security at PVG Airport confiscated mine because I didn't know this rule, mistake 1# 🙁

💡 Quick Save Tip: Security guy said, I could post the power bank to the destination in China as the airport has post office on site. Unfortunately, I didn't leave enough time for this, mistake 2#, so I had to let it go😢... got a new one in China with CCC mark (in the image below 👇). Be prepared and happy travels! 🙏

Here comes the end of 2023, I hope you had a good year. In 2023, I visited Vietnam🇻🇳, Morocco🇲🇦, Australia🇦🇺, and New Zealand🇳🇿. As someone once said, ‘Travel is the thing you spend money on but makes you rich’, and I couldn’t agree more.

Although traveling can be stressful and tiring at times, the beautiful landscapes, meeting people from different cultures and lifestyles, and overcoming unexpected challenges on the road made it all worth it. At the end of each trip, I felt happy and fulfilled.
