I got my name from my friends in early high school, when we were making nicknames for each other. Someone was called “Sunny,” so someone else started calling me “Shady,” and I ended up really liking it. I later chose the name not_shadyy because my friends started a trend where we added “not_” and an extra “y” to our nicknames, since all of their nicknames ended with a “y.” We also used this as a way to show who was part of our main friend group. People now call me shady in school now — I don't really mind anyway.
