Duke It Out

Quick summary of how the war with Iran is being discussed online.

The left: While Iran's regime is terrible, other nations don't have any business going to war with Iran, killing its civilians and destroying its infrastructure. International law exists for a reason.

There has never been any evidence that Iran was making nuclear weapons, in fact they were fully complying with the Nuclear Deal until Trump ripped it up in his first term, and this war began in the middle of new negotiations when the US and Israel STRUCK FIRST, without warning.

This war only serves one purpose, and it's to destabilize Iran so much that they become a failed state that Israel can expand into.

That does not mean Iran's regime isn't evil, it means the pretense of doing this war for regime change is a joke, especially when the country claiming to want to free Iran from its oppressors is itself conducting a genocide in its own backyard for the past 2 and a half years.

And it's still punishing Iranian civilians more than the regime at the end of the day. So much for pretending to care about civilians when a school full of children gets bombed, along with several hospitals.

Ultimately it's not up to other countries what happens to Iran and its government, it's up to its people.

The right: Oh, so you support the AYATOLLAH? So much for tolerance when you're okay with a totalitarian regime and religion taking rights away from women! Also how dare you not blindly support Israel and completely buy into the narrative fed by Epstein's best friend? YOU'RE EVIL!!!!!!!!! (proceeds to gag on boots)

I can't help it, it's just too funny to ignore.

Metatron when a video shows Hasan's dog yelp when the latter reaches for something off screen: HASAN SHOCKED HIS DOG! HE'S AN EVIL SOCIOPATH!

Metatron when Trump is mentioned 38 000 TIMES in the Epstein files: Well ACKSHUALLY if he wasn't found guilty in a court of law, we should assume he's innocent. :)

Hey guys, I'm currently hard at work on a big video for the main channel and don't have any videos in the making for this channel. Got a big idea for a video in the future, but I didn't start anything yet.

If you guys have any suggestions or would like to see me react or comment on anything or anyone politics-wise, you can either let me know in the comments, or you can join my discord: discord.gg/YzGBHxx77A

I often invite people who really like to argue with me in the comments to talk to me directly in the discord, but that's usually the moment they back out. So don't be shy!

Screw everything about this. Mark Carney gave this whole speech at Davos about first world countries setting up the world order and then giving themselves loopholes and exceptions for imperialism and colonialism. And now he's just reverting to uncritical support of the US and Israel in a stupid war nobody wants.

Duke It Out

There's this new AI tool that recently came out, Seedance 2.0, and it keeps popping into my social media feeds as people are blown away by its capabilities.

And to be fair, it does look about as good as I've ever seen AI slop look. Things look a lot more consistent, there's clearly less obvious glitches, and it actually creates some decent sequences, provided you don't actually care about any kind of story telling and just want AI to give you a 10 second clip of an alien invasion or something.

But ultimately it's the same problem that AI art has in general and in my opinion, cannot escape; generative AI can in of itself be impressive, i.e., it's impressive that you can just basically type anything into a prompt and have something weird come out, but what does come out is NEVER impressive in any real sense, because there's nothing impressive or mind-blowing about typing things into a prompt.

Last month I watched Mad Max: Furiosa and while I enjoyed it, it was also obvious that most of the big action sequences had CGI and green screens in it. So you know, it was cool, but CGI is also pretty common place these days so it wasn't mind blowing or anything like that.

But last week I re-watched Mad Max: Fury Road, which was made close to a decade before Furiosa and that movie actually went out of its way to use real practical effects and stunts; they actually made over 100 stunt cars over the course of filming, so the chases, the crashes, the people falling out of the cars and the explosions, most were real. And knowing that, I had my jaw drop through all of the sequences because of how awesome they looked!

That's what makes art worthwhile; the effort that goes into making it. Whether that's the imagination to come up with a compelling story, or coming up with interesting ways of blowing people away with visuals and sounds. Even if Furiosa relied more on CGI than Fury Road, it still had real writers, real actors putting on performances (and Hemsworth as Dementus was soooo good), it had real props, costumes, sets, and yes, real CGI to the extent that real people made it.

If you went into Seedance and asked it to make a Mad Max action sequence, I'm sure it'll make something cool looking, but where's the effort? Where's the talent? If anybody can do it, what's special about it? What's the point?

This is why a lot of people say AI art is not real art, and why people who make AI art fundamentally don't understand what art is all about.

I feel like everyone already knows that because outside of people who actually make AI slop and corporate ghouls, I don't know anyone who likes AI art. Everyone hates it when it's being forced more and more into our media, and the fact that it doesn't seem to make any of these massive media corporations reconsider is also kinda scary; it's like they're well aware that they own everything and that they'll keep making money even if everyone hates them. Oh well.

My girlfriend, bless her heart, occasionnally has some random bouts of dyslexia and it's hilarious.

On Valentine's Day, she said she got me some "Napoleon" chocolates as she knows I'm a Napoleonic Wars history buff. They were actually Neapolitan chocolates, but close enough 😅

Alright, I don't know this idiot, but I rarely see "I can't be racist because I have a black friend" being said unironically instead of being the meme that it usually is. So at the risk of preaching to the choir, let's break it down.

"Leftists really hit us with: “Just because you dated Black girls, have Black friends, or even have a Black kid doesn’t mean you’re not racist.” Yes it does, retards. Full stop."

No, it just means you're not *that* racist. This logic assumes that the only form of racism that exists is one in which you're only racist if you hate people of different skin tones so much that you won't interact with them in anyway. So sure, if you're friends with people of various ethnicities, you're not that type of extreme racist.

But that also means you just have a very narrow understanding of what racism is. Racism is a spectrum, some of it is just having ignorant misconceptions of other people, some of it is overt hatred, it varies wildly. I like to think personally that everyone is racist/ignorant to a degree. And yes, it goes both ways. That doesn't mean you have to constantly feel bad about it, but I do think accepting the premise means you're more open to improve and being aware of what you say and do.

As a quick example of this found in fiction, you could look at Telltale's The Walking Dead, and the relationship between protagonist Lee (who is black), and Kenny (who is white).

There's this funny scene in the 2nd episode I believe, in which the group is trying to break into a barn to see what the people living there are up to, and there's a padlock. Kenny immediately turns to Lee asking him if he knows how to pick a lock, to which a baffled Lee says "No, why would you assume that?" And Kenny awkwardly replies "Well, you're more... urban?" before immediately realizing what he just said and saying "I'm sorry man, I'm Floridan, sometime dumb shit comes out of my mouth."

Mind you, Kenny and Lee are friends. How could Kenny think such a negative racial stereotype when he's also friend with this black man? This is truly an odd situation we have, one this poster must think impossible.

What also makes this scene stand out is that, at least as far as I recall, there aren't any other instances before or after this scene of Kenny being racist. He's a bit rough around the edges, he sometimes comes off a bit unreliable in stressful situations, but he's a good guy. In the first episode, Lee is knocked out by another character as they're fleeing a building about to be overrun by walkers, and it's Kenny who immediately comes in to save him, whether you choose to be friendly with him or not.

I really didn't need to go on this tangent, I'm sure most people here already agree, but yeah, racism isn't exclusively overt and extreme. Anyone can be racist, and anyone making the OP's claim don't understand jack about it.

Edit: found the scene 😂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otKxE...

For those curious, I just released a Game of Thrones fan film on the main channel. This was a side project I started back in 2019 and only finished last spring. Now it's officially out, so feel free to drop by! :D

One of the most disturbing books I ever read is "120 Days of Sodom", a French novel from the late 1700s that depicts 4 rich dudes who kidnap two dozen children from all around the country and take them to a secluded castle, where they engage in the most despicable acts imaginable for 4 months straight.

Turns out the least realistic part of the book is that there were only 4 rich dudes involved.
