This morning I tried to convince myself I had plenty of time, even though the clock was giving me a very different story. I still took a moment to regroup because the way you start your day has a sneaky way of controlling the entire vibe. And honestly, choosing calm over chaos felt like the most grown woman decision I made before 9 am.

Last night I read about something called the theory of general assumptions and it really stuck with me. It made me think about how often we fill in the blanks without knowing the full story.

We all do it about people, situations, even ourselves, without realizing how much it shapes our reactions and mindset.

A couple of examples that made me pause:
Someone didn’t reply to my message. I thought they were ignoring me, but maybe they were overwhelmed or dealing with something personal.
The cashier seemed short with me. Maybe they weren’t being rude, just having a rough day.

It was such a good reminder that things aren’t always as they seem. Slowing down and giving people a little grace costs us nothing but can mean everything to them.
