I just updated my PicoKVM to the latest firmware, dated November 20th.

There's now a lock-mode on the onscreen keyboard (enabled by default) that holds the shift, ctrl, alt and meta keys when you click them! So we can do key combos without having to create a macro! Nice!

There's also more remote access options available.

The timezone is still backwards (I have to set it to UTC-1 to get UTC+1 time) and my Dell Wyse unit still won't show a bootmenu or BIOS screen when the Pico is connected.

I hope that gets fixed as well! It does show they're still working on it. :)

About a year ago I created a video with some open-source games for kids. One of the apps I installed was the educational software GCompris (great name huh! ;-))

Today I learned that this app is also available on Android and Windows! Might be interesting for anyone seeking free educational apps! :)

I feel like more people should watch this, so let's share it!

I dislike generative Ai for many reasons. This is one of them. Who is going to learn a craft if Ai can do it quicker, maybe even better than you? Who is going to actually master a craft, if no-one has learned the basics in the first place? And without people who have mastered a craft, where is Ai going to get new and fresh ideas from? Yeah, exactly...

The future is not looking bright. I sure hope more people will turn away from all the Ai features that are forced upon us.

I will not use any generative Ai in my videos. I have used ChatGPT two times in my videos though. One time for an over-the-top intro that I ended with "yeah, this intro was written by ChatGPT" and one time to generate the "virus" letter I "received" in my drive cloning tools video that.... ah well not many people have seen anyway haha! Even in those two occasions I edited the results myself to make it better fitting for me and this channel.

I'm not saying you shouldn't use Ai as a tool. Sure, if it helps you create faster yourself it's fine. But it should not do the creating for you! I don't even mind using ChatGPT or other chatbots to help you get ideas, but don't let it do the writing for you. Don't let it do the speaking for you and don't let it create images for you. Just... don't. I'd rather see an ugly human-made drawing instead of anything Ai can generate.

Oh, and ‪@YouTube‬, could you please remove the Ai generated answers to comments asap? I'm not using them anyway so it's a waste of energy and fresh drinking water that could've been used for something else. I will write my own replies. Thanks.

When I upgraded our home server with a 1TB drive, some 7 or 8 years ago, I didn't like LVM for some reason. Today me regrets the decision to use old-school physical partitions 😆
