Hi! My name is Dr. John, and I have a Ph.D. in physics (so no medical advice on this channel!). The major take-a-way I'd like to share is that physics is literally all around us... and it's messy. My goal is to show why this is true, and demonstrate how physics can be used to understand the basic principles behind nearly everything. Whether it’s the physics behind atomic weapons or ancient Egyptian technologies, no topic is off limits. My target audience consists of students, teachers, life-learners, and those curious about the science governing the world around them.
If this sounds like your cup of tea, subscribe to my channel & share with your friends and family :)
Thank you for watching my videos, and I look forward to exploring these topics together!

Today on Dr. John’s Intro Physics:
Vector Addition and Subtraction Explained with Airplanes
Monday, July 20, 2026
2:00 PM PDT / 5:00 PM EDT / 9:00 PM UTC
After last weekend’s Flat vs. Globe debate on @ModernDayDebate, I was inspired to dedicate a stream to figuring out vectors using airplanes. Pilots rely on vectors constantly. And based on Iron Horse’s rebuttals… seems like a few people could use a refresher.
So today, we’ll talk about vector addition, vector subtraction, components, resultants, and how physicists use vectors to describe motion in more than one direction.
Then we’ll apply the same ideas to airplanes: headwinds, tailwinds, crosswinds, air speed, ground speed, and why pilots sometimes have to point the plane in one direction while the plane actually moves in another.

Tomorrow on Dr. John’s Intro Physics:
Speed vs Velocity vs Acceleration
Friday, July 17, 2026
2:00 PM PDT / 5:00 PM EDT / 9:00 PM UTC
On the previous stream, chat received several confident reports that gravity does not exist and rockets are fake.
Bold claims.
So this lecture, we’re doing 1D kinematics: position, displacement, speed, velocity, acceleration, falling objects, and rocket motion after launch.
We’ll look at how physicists quantify motion, why speed and velocity are not the same thing, what acceleration actually means, and how the basic kinematic equations let us predict where something will be and how fast it will be moving.

I’m starting a new live lecture series: Dr. John’s Intro Physics.
Whether you're a resourceful college student or a confused flat earther, there should be something for everyone.
New channel feature: live Discord participation. If you’re watching live and want to contribute to the show, join the Discord and hop into the “Public Forum” voice channel during the stream:

First stream: Tomorrow, July 15, 2026 at 2:00 PM PDT / 5:00 PM EDT / 9:00 PM UTC.
Topic:
What Is Physics Really? Units, Measurement & Models
We’ll start with the big picture questions: what physics is, what it’s used for, how we quantify the world, why units matter, and why models are central to understanding reality.
This is the beginning of an algebra-based intro physics sequence for students, independent learners, curious people, and yes, even the occasionally confused.
Bring questions. Join the discussion. PPE optional. Evidence required.

The events here are rather odd. The US district court case against the EPA on water fluoridation took nearly 8 years to reach a final verdict. This wasn't an accident. While this case barely made a blip on the headline news, it kept public health agencies up at night. The details here, did the same for me.
Find out everything about the public health agency emails, court tapes, and documents surrounding this case during my new LIVE stream tomorrow!

New study on fluoride exposure and IQ may require current public health policies to re-evaluate the practice of adding fluoride to the water supply. Has water fluoridation finally met its match?
See what it all means during my new LIVE stream tomorrow!

Kicking off my first live stream on Fluoride, which has recently sparked controversy in the United States over its safety in the water supply. The opinions and views are divided and tough to navigate. In this stream, I'm going to provide answers using the current scientific research and understanding of how fluoride can affect your health.
Hope to see you there!

Had a fantastic conversation with André Bernier, Chief Meteorologist for WJW-TV Cleveland, OH, on his podcast WeatherJazz® about the upcoming Total Solar Eclipse on April 8th. Great discussion about why total eclipses are so rare, and interesting facts about eclipses not previously discussed in my video. Hope you enjoy the discussion as much as I did!
