2 lost, 4 win - finished the Noteboom tournament with 4 points. It’s kind of unfortunate since I was feeling totally ready to win this tournament but it’s what it is. I hope to have better result in next tournaments!

2026 began incredibly!

Besides having the chance to play in the Wimbledon of chess - Tata Steel - being there as media with my YouTube channel was a huge achievement for me.

Meeting top players, interviewing them, going behind the scenes, and witnessing their happiness and sadness so raw -moments we never see through a screen was truly a priceless experience.

On the other hand, I played a 9-day tournament for the first time. At first glance, one game per day doesn’t sound like much, but over time you really feel how exhausting it is. Every day, hours of classical chess, combined with the emotional pressure. No matter the result of the day, you have to clear your mind and be ready for the next day, the next story, the next battle, the next game.

After investing so much, I was very close to making it all pay off. I was close to winning the tournament, but a moment of distraction and a drop in discipline after reaching a better position cost me a sudden loss in a critical game. I finished the tournament in 3rd place - 6 wins, 3 losses and +45 Elo point!

I learned a lot - and now I know more than ever what I need to learn, improve, and focus on. Next time, I’ll know more than I do now. This learning journey will continue, with all its challenges and pleasures.
