They used to need me for everything. Now they’re becoming their own little people. Watching them grow is the most beautiful kind of heartbreak.

One day you’re in the thick of it, and then suddenly, you’re standing in the school parking lot wondering when they got so big.

It’s a tug-of-war between “look how far they’ve come” and “wait, slow down. I wasn’t done holding that version of you yet.”

Every year it feels like I’m sending off a new version of them…and every year, I miss the one they just were.🥹
