Pakistan’s largest private LPG producer, Jamshoro Joint Ventures Limited (JJVL), has officially resumed operations after more than five years, marking a major boost for the country’s energy sector. The company dispatched its first LPG shipment on Thursday, signalling a strong comeback for Pakistan’s LPG supply chain.
The reopening of JJVL’s plant is a significant milestone, especially at a time when the nation is working to strengthen domestic energy production. Located in Jamshoro, Sindh, the facility is equipped with advanced Ortloff technology, known for its high propane recovery and world-class efficiency standards.
The plant was originally engineered and commissioned by Exterran, a Houston-based company, which continues to oversee its operations. With JJVL back in action and its agreement with Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) now approved, Pakistan’s LPG and NGL extraction capacity is expected to stabilise and improve.
This development is likely to enhance supply reliability, support downstream industries, and reduce pressure on imported LPG — a positive step for both the energy sector and consumers.
