The 3 computers that were used to make the Toshiba Countdowns from 2007 to 2011. Many good memories of me sitting in the lunch room at school and working on the countdowns in between classes. Lot of the students from the middle school would crowd around me everyday I was working on the countdowns in the lunch room. Many days and nights stressing to get them done on time, many times the computer would crash because of the custom software used to make the countdowns and many times me screaming my head off each time it happened 😂. I would randomly choose one of the computers to do the countdowns each year and use the other two as a renderfarm of sorts.

Screencaps from the full resolution animation of the official Toshiba Countdown 2010. I had to letterbox the screencaps, otherwise YouTube would cutoff a majority of the screencaps.

Here's a good video showing the raising of the Times Square Ball, including hourly and final 60-Second countdowns back on December 31st, 2000.

Very happy to announce that Charles B. Kim's music from the "Music from the Times Square 2000 Celebration" collection will be revived and revamped for the modern era. As of now, Fanfare for the Common Man has been completed and Ascent of Time is currently in development. You will be able to hear an excerpt from each of the newer versions on my channel later on.
