The Youth Committee Meeting was successfully held on 1 August 2026 at Lahore YMCA. The meeting was led by Mr. Ramis John, Youth Coordinator, and attended by 10 youth members.
The program began with an opening prayer led by Ahmar Tanveer, Youth Member. This was followed by the Scripture reading from Philippians 2:1–5, which was read by Sania Ashiq, Youth Member.
Mr. Ramis John welcomed all the participants and briefly reviewed the previous Youth Committee meeting. He reminded the members about the discussions from the last meeting, especially the importance of working together in teams to prepare project proposals.
During the meeting, Mr. Ramis John conducted an inspiring session on Leadership. Referring to Philippians 2:1–5, he encouraged the youth to follow the example of Jesus Christ as the perfect leader. He shared that true leadership is based on humility, unity, and serving others. He explained that good leaders do not try to be above others but instead encourage, support, and work together with their team. When people serve with love and put the needs of the group before themselves, they strengthen the team and bring honor to God.
Philippians 2:1-5
Imitating Christ’s Humility 1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
After the session, the youth members wrote and shared their personal reflections on what they had learned about leadership.
Another important part of the meeting was preparing for the upcoming Minority Day and Pakistan Independence Day programs at Lahore YMCA. The youth members were divided into two teams. One team will present a performance on a Pakistani Independence Day song, while the second team will perform a group singing presentation featuring patriotic songs.
The meeting also included discussions about future Youth Committee activities. Members planned to begin Christmas Choir practice in the coming months and discussed organizing healthy lifestyle activities for young people at Lahore YMCA. The youth shared many creative ideas and showed great enthusiasm for arranging meaningful and positive programs.
The meeting concluded with a closing prayer led by Prisca John, Youth Member. Mr. Ramis John thanked everyone for their active participation, cooperation, and commitment. To conclude the event, all Youth Committee members gathered for a group photograph with the General Secretary, Mrs. Ghazala Sarfraz.
Today, we celebrated the birthday of our wonderful colleague and valued YMCA family member, Agnes. 🎂✨
Your kindness, dedication, and warm smile make every day brighter at YMCA Lahore. Wishing you a year filled with joy, success, good health, and God's abundant blessings.
