The Youth Committee Meeting was successfully held on 09 May 2026 at Lahore YMCA. The meeting was led by Mr. Ramis John, Youth Coordinator, and attended by 9 youth members.
The meeting began with an opening prayer by Kinret Waris, Youth Member. After the prayer, Mr. Ramis John welcomed all participants and introduced the YMCA and its important role in supporting youth and communities around the world.
During the session, members learned that the YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association) is one of the oldest and most respected non-profit organizations, working in more than 100 countries. The YMCA focuses on youth development, healthy living, community support, and social responsibility.
Mr. Ramis John explained the mission, vision, and core values of the YMCA in simple and easy words. He shared that the YMCA helps young people build good character, leadership skills, confidence, and responsibility. He also discussed the history of the YMCA, which was founded in 1844 in London, England, by George Williams to support young workers and provide them with a safe and positive environment.
The session also highlighted the YMCA’s contribution to sports, including the creation of basketball and volleyball through YMCA programs.
An important part of the meeting was a learning session on project proposal writing. Mr. Ramis John taught the youth members the basic steps of writing project proposals on different youth-led solutions and community topics. The session helped participants learn new skills and understand how to develop ideas into meaningful projects for the community.
The meeting also included discussion and planning for promoting healthy lifestyle activities at Lahore YMCA in the coming days. Youth members shared ideas and showed great interest in organizing positive and active programs for young people.
All participants actively took part in the discussion, which encouraged teamwork, leadership, learning, and personal growth among the youth members.
The meeting concluded with a closing prayer by Sania Ashiq, Youth Member and Assistant Secretary. Mr. Ramis John thanked everyone for their active participation and support.
At the end of the meeting, a group photo was taken with GS. Mrs. Ghazala Sarfraz and all Youth Committee members to mark the occasion.
