New release over on the Varkensstad channel.
Voorgevoel, Dutch for foreboding or premonition. Even though I don't typically write lyrics I always write music with a theme or concept in my head, this was no different. Drawing upon the loss of loved ones, my own fears about the world we're leaving for our children, and other uncertainties, Voorgevoel fleshed out. I was originally inspired when reading about owls and their meanings in folklore, in particular that in some cultures they were harbingers of death or bad luck. While there are no lyrics, I feel that this music carries some emotional weight. We'll see, now that it's out there. I do think some of the best melodies and atmospheric passages I've written are on here. Both parts of Cataclysm in particular.
