World Beyond Soundtracks

Today, we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the release of Winter Legend on Bandcamp. As you may be aware, World Beyond initially began as a production music project in the autumn of 2011. I focused on producing orchestral compositions that could be used in ads and trailers, and by 2014, I had plenty of tracks following the same theme to release my first EP. I called it Winter Legend after the titular track.

The original cover was much different from the one you see today. At first, it was just fir trees in a winter forest. Then, I decided to use a picture my mother took and edited it to fit the theme. Finally, a weathered shield was added, displaying musical instruments and ancient symbols on the decorative stripe.

While a lot of the music on this release sounds like war anthems, it was mainly inspired by the internal struggles each of us has and how music is always there to protect us from all the harm in our lives, just like a shield.

The track "Everything We Stand For" from this EP is something I did in collaboration with my dear friend Nick Standing ‪@JabunAudio‬ , who recorded the acoustic guitar for it. It was written specifically for a music contest on Newgrounds.com and remains one of my most favorite and iconic World Beyond tracks to this day.

Last year, I released remastered tracks from the Winter Legend EP on Bilibili and YouTube with completely new visuals inspired by places that are dear to me, along with two music videos expanding on the lore of World Beyond.
