Hi all,
I’m looking at creating a new Space Engineers series. The goal is for it to be fun multiplayer shenanigans comparable to Colony Wars and Outpost Wars.
That means less focus on high-quality story adventures like “Frontier” and “Colony Alliances” - while I love them, I don’t have the time to do those at the moment. Plus I’m already working on something :wink:
For this new series type, we need a **mission objective**.
Something to do, aim towards or complete! So I’m opening suggestions to you all
Please keep in mind what I’ve mentioned above. We can’t have anything super demanding at the moment

😢 A Weird Space Engineers 2 "Development Choice"
Hiya all,
So naturally, I am still keeping an eye on the development of Space Engineers 2. The latest developer blog has revealed an interesting decision that has divided some members of the community, it would seem.
🔷 Space Engineers One (SE1) has always been a SANDBOX Video Game, it seems Space Engineers 2 (SE2) will break away from that with an odd decision...
According to the Developers..:
"Story and Sandbox Merge - We’ve decided to merge CAMPAIGN into SANDBOX. Originally they were separate: Sandbox was colonization only, no story, no main characters - just systems and generic NPCs.
But now we realize that having story outside of Sandbox would be a waste. It complicates production and splits our focus. So: no separate Campaign mode anymore. We’re putting the story into Sandbox."

The takeaway many are having is that the STORY is being FORCED on players? What if I don't care about the story and just want to Play My Way? Surely that is the point of a sandbox game? There is certainly a larger conversation to be had here about this.
