😢 A Weird Space Engineers 2 "Development Choice"
Hiya all,
So naturally, I am still keeping an eye on the development of Space Engineers 2. The latest developer blog has revealed an interesting decision that has divided some members of the community, it would seem.
🔷 Space Engineers One (SE1) has always been a SANDBOX Video Game, it seems Space Engineers 2 (SE2) will break away from that with an odd decision...
According to the Developers..:
"Story and Sandbox Merge - We’ve decided to merge CAMPAIGN into SANDBOX. Originally they were separate: Sandbox was colonization only, no story, no main characters - just systems and generic NPCs.
But now we realize that having story outside of Sandbox would be a waste. It complicates production and splits our focus. So: no separate Campaign mode anymore. We’re putting the story into Sandbox."

The takeaway many are having is that the STORY is being FORCED on players? What if I don't care about the story and just want to Play My Way? Surely that is the point of a sandbox game? There is certainly a larger conversation to be had here about this.

🔥 Anyone watched Andor (Star Wars) ?
The latest episodes have to be some of the best-written Sci-Fi content I have seen recently. The storytelling and the pacing are just so good. Mon Mothma's recent speech, “The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. “" is so resonating with current times!

👋 The Finale Recording of Colony Battlegrounds!
Tonight we filmed the last session, which will come out in a few weeks as we record ahead of time. It's been a fantastic series, and working with Beeble, Bob, and TC as the team leaders has been fantastic.
This has been one of the best series I have created and directed in a long time :D Although we've been cut short due to technical issues, it's been a pleasure bringing creators both large and small together. I'm very proud that the series has spotlighted smaller content creators as well - that is a big achievement.
Hope you enjoy the finale episode sessions over the next few weeks.
