Update for those of you who have seen my 'I've Been Banned By Twitch' video from yesterday: I submitted a Subject Access Request to Twitch via their online form. (As a UK resident, they are required by GDPR to give me a copy of data they hold on me.) I said, in essence: you are required by law to give me this data. Please send it via email, I cannot download it from my account since you have suspended the account.
The response:
"I understand that you're having trouble logging into your account.
To appeal your suspension, please take the following steps...[blither]"
My response:
"I have already appealed, and the appeal was denied.
I wish to know why.
Therefore, I am submitting a Subject Access Request.
I also wish to request a human review."
I did not say: "I am not wasting my time typing things for a bot" but I did THINK it.
If I haven't had a suitable response before Easter, I will submit my Subject Access Request on paper, with a STAMP and an ENVELOPE like some kind of TROGLODYTE. But in the meantime, please know that I have been securing my other accounts. Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. I don't want to make it to the three times that says enemy action*.
Regardless, let me assure you that I am not discommoded by this, since I never used Twitch anyway. I am not distressed, merely determined to wade through the bureaucracy and get to the bottom of this nonsense.
I wouldn't say I'm having fun, exactly, but it's definitely interesting.
